Hops (Humulus Lupulus) Liquid Extract 4 oz

This is great added to sparkling water.

Wonderful flavor! Not very strong so I have to use more than one dropper full, so I gave it only 4 stars. That said, I added it to a glass of Fresca for a much more refreshing drink! Sort of a mixed flavor between beer and a mild grapefruit soda.

I'm giving this product a three out of uncertainty. My previous product, Herb Pharm, had a menstrum ratio of 1:5, (dry herb to solvent for extraction) while this product has a menstrum ratio of 1:3. I'm not sure which is the better, but I do note a difference between the two products.The Herb Pharm was a darker, more viscous liquid than the lighter amber colored Hawaii Pharm. This could be down to the Hawaii Pharm having 60% alcohol while the Herb Pharm did not list alcohol as an ingredient. (For the record, I am not against alcohol as a solvent in these miniscule amounts after reading research showing that a tiny amount of solvent in the diet of c. elegans (worm used in research) actually lengthened the lifespan of the worms in that particular study. The key word here is small amounts.)Another observation was that when I added no more than 3 or 4 drops of the Herb Pharm hops to my warm tea, the surface would instantaneously bloom and the hops would stay on the surface until I stirred the tea. The Hawaii Pharm shows little change even after 10 or so drops. I attribute that to the alcohol in the Hawaii Pharm and in turn, a dilution of the product with alcohol and vegetable glycerin.That dilution can be looked on as a positive or a negative... a negative that suggests one is getting less of the actual ingredient and a positive in that the dilution masks some of the natural bitterness of the dried flower of the hops.My personal experience was needing to add much more cinnamon, ginger, rosemary leaf liquid extracts along with vanilla and stevia drops in order to cut the bitterness of the 3 or 4 drops of Herb Pharm in a cup of tea. I've had the Hawaii Pharm tea sans the stevia and found it easy enough to drink.It all boils down to "pick your (non) poison"... an easy-on-the-palate hops such as Hawaii Pharm, or another brand that may offer a more concentrated yet more bitter potion.

I have used this Hops formula for several weeks which has provided deeper sleep for me. I will definitely reorder this again. I usually sleep fairly well. By squirting this into my mouth, I sleep more soundly. People have different needs for Herbs to improve sleeping. This works as well or better than several formulas that I previously found useful.

I put a squirt of this in my smoothie each day. Nice product.

Tastes like s***. No way to disguise this stuff.
