Isometric Power Exercises

A complete and comphrensive review of isometrics
Bruce Tegner, author of all the karate and judo books, had written a fine book on isometrics. He illustrates using self-resistance, rope, stick, immovable objects, and a rope/broomstick combination. He provides a 15 minute program or you can make yours up based on an index of which isometrics exercise what part of the body. Well written and in the same clear and direct style without all the outlandish claims found about any exercise program.

Great book, but did not like the scan
Tegner's books are great for this material. If you can get a clean copy of one of the originals I recommend them. This book is a scan of one of his original books. The material is great but I found that the scan did not provide clear copies of diagrams. With my eyesight not as good as it used to be I found this to be annoying enough that I returned it.

An interesting and informative booklet for those interested in Isometric exercises.
The late Bruce Tegner was truly an amazing person. Not only was he a Judo champion, but he was a prolific writer in the martial arts and self-defense fields. Even though he was ignored by the traditional martial arts community, his many published books explained the martial arts in simple and modern terms western students could relate to and understand.A few of his books include: Judo: beginner to black belt, Karate, beginner to black belt, The Complete book of Jukado, the complete book of self-defense, stick fighting and numerous other self-defense volumes. What I did not know until recently was that he also wrote a book on survival and this book, “Isometric Power Exercises.” This booklet was originally published in 1964 (Modern Reprint Edition) but this text was published in 2013 by Strongman books. I consider myself fortunate to have been able to purchase this rare volume (Isometric Power Exercises) from Amazon.I have been involved in physical fitness and the martial arts for most of my life. I have tried every type of exercise program I could find, including isometrics. This unique booklet is only 61 pages long but has 133 different isometric exercises you can do with no equipment. This volume includes an index of exercises, how much time and how many exercises, a balanced program, breath control, isometrics in your daily life, 15-minute program, team exercises and exercises for women.Rating: 4 Stars. Poor scan.
I had the original book a long time ago, the scanned copy is sometimes hard to read, and the photos do not show clearly.
