The book is good, but the recordings are near perfect. Simply astonishing.

Bizarre choice of songs, very frustrating.
Having waited for this book to be released for years I have to say I am really disappointed. With such an amazing catalogue of songs, it should be an easy task to choose a good mix of difficulty and well known tracks, using kit most amateur/ students of the drums will have at home. There are 8 songs in the book, the first 2 (Another One Bites the Dust & Crazy Little Thing Called Love) are almost identical in their very basic drum pattern (Grade 1?) and differ only by a few bars and the beats per minute (110 & 156). The third song, Fat Bottomed Girls needs 6 toms and a China to play, if you want to follow precisely, of course we all have 6 Tom kits at home! The fourth is Killer Queen, standard kit required, no problem here. The fifth is Stone Cold Crazy, a song unknown to me, and a BPM of 239! Good luck with that! Track 6 is Tie your Mother Down requiring again 6 toms. And finally We Are the Champions, needing a China and cup chime to play it as written.I feel very let down by this from Hal Leonard as I have others in the series and have been pleased with the content. I presume as it took so long to publish there was copyright issues or wrangling over the song choices allowed. I think they made the wrong decision to publish if this was all they were allowed. Very Poor, better choices out there, try Green Day!
