Orbit 20066 Portable 1/4-Inch Outdoor Mist Cooling System

I took less than 5 minutes to clip these because the triple digit temps were brutal. I was SHOCKED at how much cooler it felt immediately. I've already ordered more.

I absolutely LOVED this product and it worked perfectly. We bought it for a party during Memorial Weekend, which was over 95 degrees that day. Set up for a breeze. We attached it between two trees in the shade. It did take about 30 seconds for the water to wind its way from the facet through our long hose, up a tree and through the hose of the unit before it started working. We had it on a medium water pressure level and it misted perfectly for over 7 hours. People loved it! When I took it down I was surprised and pleased to find that the ground below was not overly wet or muddy, just a little damp. During use, I did note the formation of water droplets on the hose during use, but it was not enough of a problem that anyone complained or that it created a watery mess below. We do have nice thick grass, and it was a hot day, (though set up in the shade) so perhaps without those conditions there might be more water below. If I try it elsewhere, such as on our deck, I will update my review. As a precaution for avoiding calcium build up, I removed the brass nozzles and allowed them to dry out on a paper towel over night (they each had about one droplet of water inside) before packing them in a zip lock bag in the original box. Also, I hung the hose up by one end to allow remaining droplets of water to drain out overnight from the hose adapter end before packing away. The original box is sturdy and perfect for keeping and storing the mister, though I might go ahead and order a second unit and attach it to our deck for the summer. It really provided a very pleasing mist of water, and I was so thankful to have it for our party!

Installation was quick and easy. I even followed the advice of another reviewer and installed a mesh screen to my hose before hooking it up to the mister to prevent any clogging of the mist system. Of the 6 misters, only the first 3 are working. The other 3 have water coming to them but nothing will come out of the mister itself. Any ideas?? I could not find a place on amazon to Contact Seller so I am hoping to hear back from Amazon for a solution. Upon suggestion from a reader of my review above, he suggested I call the company. As a result, they are sending out 3 new misters to replace the defective ones, under warranty. Great customer service! I have changed my rating to 4 stars: You will get wet as other reviewers have noted, as will your cushions on your patio furniture.

I bought three of these to place along a tent during an outdoor wedding at our house in Missouri July 2nd. As predicted, the weather was VERY hot. The nozzles work very well and produce a very fine mist. After reading some of the feedback on these types on items I also purchased a filter to go on the hose to prevent sediment. Aero Mist 52505 Outdoor Calcium Inhibitor Filter We have well water with LOTS of sediment. At the end of the night there was a lot of junk in the filter but my nozzles were protected. This type of system was made with a dry climate in mind. The cooling is caused by evaporation. In a humid climate evaporation occurs more slowly. So in humid weather, be prepared to get a little damp if you are near the misters. We ended up having to set the misters a little way from the tent and blow the mist in with big commercial construction fans. It worked perfectly! Letting the mist travel farther gives more time for evaporation which gives more cooling and doesn't get you wet. I wholeheartedly recommend these, but be aware of the limitation of this type of system in humid air.

I want to like this product because when it works, it is amazing. Especially on hot days, this little sucker provides relief for your kids and your guests if you are hosting a party out door. Now imagine the same 100 degree evening where this doesn't work. It is frustrating to see water dripping from the nozzles and no mist. That's what happen to me. I bought a set of these and the calcium inline filter. 3 nozzles does not work after 20 min or so. Amazon was kind enough to send me replacement valves, but the same thing happened to the other nozzles. I already knew these nozzles will clog up based on other reviews, but I didn't think it will happen on the first day with the calcium inline filter. I replaced all the nozzles with the brass misting nozzle from Aootech, and hot days are pleasant again.

Too bad I waited to install it & missed my return window. Now I'm stuck with a worthless mister. Leaked heavily out of the area where the small hose goes into the hose connector so of course, it wouldn't mist & nothing I did got it to stop leaking. Soo disappointed.

We spend a lot of time indoors in New England so when we can get outside we try to do so. That said, when the temp skyrockets it's easy to stay in the A/C. To be able to spend more time on the deck I picked up one of these misters .. and it was great! A very slight turn of the faucet provides wonderful comfort. Installation was very simple and I can still lower and raise the umbrella without any issues. I ended up adding a Y connector to the end of the hose and installed a 2nd mister to create a wall of mist all the way around the umbrella. It really is a great and inexpensive way to enjoy the outdoors.

Worth every penny!! I have been searching for a misting system for eons, refused to pay for shipping and ultimately got fed up searching and ordered this. It was prime eligible so I thought - why not? Amazon’s return policy is killer. This system is awesome! Set up in minutes and works like a charm. We took it from our home to the cabin to use while we were there and take down/re-hook up is a breeze. Don’t wait like I did, we could have been enjoying this for months!

Had my sons bday party temp was gonna be around 38 degrees Celsius with humidity so I thought this would help as it was a backyard party and it did. Doesn’t get you wet and everyone was talking about it. Only issue is it sometimes clogges but it’s pretty cool unit.

A great little misting system to cool us and our dog off during a heat wave. Not very sophisticated, but doesn't need to be at the price point!

Portable misting system needs to be st least 20% longer to be effective in most applications. An extention kit for 1/4 inch basic system would give effective coverage to most large patio umbrellas. The hose clips provided work well and additional clips can be obtained by purchasing 'ID badge clips' from stationary store. One alternative is to buy 3/8" Basic Outdoor Misting System and buy ID clips to attach tubing to fabric of umbrella as 3/8" system has extention kit available.
