Great content, but I struggle a little with the font style and overall layout of the print. So I wish the publisher had done a better job with layout and design. But the content is really great. I will say that I was forced to read it for a teaching class in seminary and had a hard time getting started. But after the first few chapters I really started to enjoy it, and felt like I really learned a lot in the end and that it is well for the time to read it.

Definitely a good read!

A very good book regarding teaching and learning as a disciple of Christ. A lot of the theories and models mentioned here tie in with the discipleship-making process and informs us in the utilization and application accordingly.

Great book on teaching philosophy

This book really covers the holistic approach to teaching incredibly well, while also factoring in the element of the soul and Christian principles of learning which other teaching philosophies do not pay attention to.Only study this in conjunction with a more critical secular book, so that you can come away understanding both sides. There is much to be learned from all in this field, and we Christians don't have a monopoly on teaching. The only reason I'm giving it three stars instead of four is because it didn't keep me interested enough to read the whole thing, I read most of it, but there was a good bit of repeat on other more common sensical teaching topics. Since I was reading this in conjunction with two other teaching books for a class, there was quite a bit of crossover, and even though "How We Learn" cannot be blamed for my choice of other books which contained the crossover, I do consider the crossover to be more common sense than any monopoly of one particular book, and as common sense unengaging and disinteresting.

Great book

This book is really informative and presents some excellent ways to improve your teaching and truly motivate your students. It gets a bit technical at points, therefore hard to read. But the concepts are powerful.
