Awesome read!
Great insight. As a volunteer in a youth organization, this book has opened my eyes, engaged my heart, and educated my sensibilities. I've already gifted it to others and will continue to do so. Although caring for others isn't always easy, this book helps guide us on a journey that positively changes lives.

Easy to understand
Reading currently. I am finding it directly relevant to my ministry. Practical. Easy to understand. Amazing examples. I would highly recommend to anyone who will talk to youth and families in crisis situations. Yes, I said "and families". This book definitely is wide in scope, giving advice on how to engage parents, friends, mentors, professionals, and at necessary times even the law.

Put it to use the first day!
This book deserves 5 stars based on the width and depth of topics it covers in a concise manner. It was helpful to my ministry the first day I owned it and have turned to it with several questions since.

A Great, succinct starting point
Great for times of crisis in a youth ministry. Not exhaustive, but if you need information fast, it's there. Excellently organized, and covering a wide range of topics. It has incredibly helpful sections regarding where to find more information/help.

Raw Guidance
The raw realities exposed throughout the book help temper the unknown realm of support as a youth leader, counselor, support worker, or in my case - a Chaplain. This book is a perfect mentor to help nurture unsuspecting persons seeking insight in this area of care & support. It has so many practical step-by-step actions/advice and points to follow through to take into the real world. A must read for anyone seeking to broaden their perspective of the world and the crisis that riddle lives everywhere. Great guidance book.
