I love this light at night.
The media could not be loaded. I have the light programmed to go on at sunset every day. This is what it looks like at night. The controls have many options but it’s a devil to figure out which lighting option you want which is why I took away one star. That said, I’ve had it now for a couple of years and it’s holding up well. I also use a regular aquarium light for daylight hours.

Great for an African cichlid tank!
I purchased the Current USA Satellite Freshwater LED light strip with the specific goal of illuminating a Lake Malawi cichlid tank. This light serves that purpose very well because it has only daylight white LEDs and blue LEDs, and their intensities can be adjusted separately from one another. I was able to achieve the look I was after by setting the white LEDs to their lowest setting and the blue LEDs to one setting above lowest. This works extremely well for African cichlid tanks because these tanks usually do not have plants in them, that would otherwise require bright lighting. With that said, this fixture is not perfect. For one, the automated cloud cover and storm features are really gimmicky and induce stress on the fish. I cannot understand why this feature would be desired when it negatively effects the most important part of an aquarium: it's inhabitants.Next, an improvement that this fixture could use, is a normal power switch. While plugged in, the only way to completely turn the fixture off is to press down and hold the "Mode" button on the wired remote for a few seconds until it turns off, or unplug it completely. This can be tedious when working in the tank, as opposed to other fixtures with a simple, dedicated ON/OFF switch. Finally, and just to nit-pick, this fixture would be an absolute high-value, low cost bargain if it came with a time-setting feature. There seems to be a lack of a low-tech LED fixture that have programmable timer functions in the aquarium market, that isn't packed full of unnecessary features and costs and arm and a leg.Overall, this is a great LED fixture for a fish-only display tank, like African cichlids. The LED colors are perfectly suited to bring out the color of these fish and the ability to mix white and blue at different intensities is perfect for this. I would not recommend this fixture for a freshwater planted aquarium, because this fixture was not designed with plant growth in mind and does not emit light bright enough to do so.

Best investment for my fish, next to the canister filter. A must have. Please your fish with a cloudy day/storm projection :))
This light is insane! :) Im so happy with it, More than my fish, who are delighted when the storm starts, the dance they all throw on. Made me think it stresses them out but its just the way, eating happy. Thats not stress, its a delight. What a difference compared to regular tubes, the blue light does provide the spectrum near to the actinic tubes which does make my fish look just as vibrant in colors every time the night setting comes to effect. Daylight is quite too strong, but I never leave it there, instead, pick cloudy day and that seriously takes over, its just something the regular tubes never provide. Its insane, not to mention the price for what this can do. Do yourself, rather, do your fish a favor and order this amazing piece of Technology. Well worth that little money they're asking for it, unlike the local stores, yuck! They don't even have this kind, just regular led with no programs, for twice, three times the price, yet brands like made in china random failing lights of theirs. Had it for probably 6 months now? All the LEDs are still alive both blue and white. Never turning the unit off mind you. Im not sure what the power draw of the tube Ive had was, but I'm sure this is even more efficient, and modern! Very satisfying product. Especially the cloudy day and storm effect! Best to see on your own eyes, the videos can give you an idea, but its best to own it. Trust me. 100 out of 100!UPDATE: It'll be a year and the light still works like new.Ordered another one and bought locally a competition FLU*** german brand timer for half the price of the CURRENTS and it works.I did see the flickering when the fade out kicks in while the light has cloud simulation on, which is a big shame although even current describes this issue with their own timer so I did expect it with my smart purchase of a timer from a different brand yet hoped that maybe it wont be a problem by me trying 3 different combinations of plugging the connectors into the timer. Either way, fish are enormously happy with this light, even the ones in the second tank that I temporarily used a regular desk lamp with standard 40W light-bulb are now swimming calm and enjoying especially the night light setting.

Works pretty good
It’s a nice bright led light that fits over top of my open tank (30g) works pretty good. The one and only thing thing I didn’t like is the price…..but I’m cheap lol. I have it hooked up to a smart plug for a timer and I checked out all the settings for all the different lights. NAHBAD!

What to expect from the low end price point of the LED canopy product spectrum
I bought model 4001 (24"-36") for a small, 33l/9g, 20"x10"x10" med-low light, freshwater, planted shrimp tank. This was a mature, well established tank and plants (13 years). The unit I have used does not have the power for my 33l/9gal tank, and from my experience this fixture does not have the light spectrum required to grow plants. I have used this light with the brackets on tank above glass and suspended without glass. After trying several configurations and methods over 6 months and watching my plants suffer, I put this fixture back in the box where it still sits in the attic.Superficially, the light emitted is visually appealing and the different settings are amusing for a day or two. The fade in and out was a nice feature. Lets face it, this product is at the low end of the cost hierarchy for these types of LED canopy lights and that's why I bought it. If I had purchased the different brand and model that I logically wanted to purchase, I would probably been happy with the aquatic results. However, that would be a fleeting bliss, as the old lady would have taken my beer and seized my wallet because somehow "our money is for shoes not light bulbs" (her words).I would not purchase this model again (4001) or any other one of the models from the series as I do not have confidence in the quality of light that is required for freshwater plant growth. I cannot speak to the efficacy of this product in a marine tank.

Great Value
I now have bought two of these lights for separate tanks. They are really nice and slim, and don't get warm when running all day. One of my tanks is 24" deep and this light has no issue illuminating the full depth. Some of the modes are a little useless (thunderstorm), and the control tab on the cable is a little cheap. Out of the box it is also impossible to set it up to change from day mode to night mode on a timer. All in all though a great light for the money

Could be brighter
Not quite as bright as I would have liked but it does the job for now

Good Light
Well built as you expect from current usa products. Only dislike is I wish it had a remote like other models not inline buttons on the cord. Besides that everything is great.
