BMW Advanced Car Eye 2.0

This camera is all that I expected.I am still evaluating...

I was looking to get this original dashcam for my BMW and now I regret a lot! The only think which is good about this dashcam it's how it look in the car and from outside and how it is incorporated into the car (here I mean it is switches on when you unlock the doors, etc). The main purpose of dashcam is to have a good quality video. So, firsl of all, this dashcam cannot record 60fps if you use both front and back cameras. No one is saying that, I have watched so many videos on YouTube before I decided to buy this unit, but no one said that it can only record 60 fps if you switch off back camera in the settings! What is the point then to have back camera which comes in the package?! So, advert which says this is 60fps capable dashcam is a false! Second, the main issue is the quality - it is awful! I have never seen so bad video quality taken by dashcam. I have to mention that back camera taking quite good video, however, the main front camera quality is very very bad. In addition, when you drive under the sun in the hot sunny summer day, the front camera video quality becomes even worse! Looks like it is overheated and video quality further drops. I would not recommend this dashcam. Stay away. This is a piece of junk from BMW. What a shame that such company allow its contractors to produce such junk.

I have a few cars, and I have put in cheap dash cam which have GPS, desktop software and quite good quality video. But for my BMW, thought I would put in the genuine article, a BMW dash cam. OK, So this is a Korean made dash with a BMW badge stuck on it. BMW then add a rather stupid german accent voice onto the camera, just to remind you each time you get into your german car, that it is a german car! I find this so annoying! Despite this having GPS, I struggle to get it to work and usually it is showing the wrong time as well as the incorrect location, but occasionally it gets it right. There is no desktop viewer for this, the BMW Desktop viewer for the previous version of this camera does not play this versions so you are stuck with the iphone app, which is useless if you want to send the footage off to your insurance company. Your local BMW have no idea how this camera works so they are useless and BMW UK do not like customers, and refuse to talk to them! So my advice is do not bother with this camera, there are far better ones out there and cheaper.

Waste of money. Just buy an after market version for one eight of the price. WiFi doesn’t work And camera only records If your car is on and the phone connected is near car

Bought mine through BMW site. Dealer installed. But after 3 years it is now a brick. It suddenly stopped working. Customer support, after giving me a ACE2.BRN file for an Update fix which didn't work, tells me it is a hardware fix. In other words, it is now a brick. Well the car is wired for just this cam, time to eBay shop for a front cam. DO NOT BUY THIS!
