Great product, good results
I have been using the Silkn Smooth now for around 3 months. I was a bit apprehensive about using it but I needn't have worried as it was actually easy to use, it is painless though you do feel a little heat from the device. In the past I have shaved under my arms and on my legs and been frustrated by the regrowth. With Silkn Smooth this regrowth has definitely slowed down and is barely there in some areas, my skin is becoming smoother for longer each time I use it. There is some regrowth, but it is less each time and much finer. My only regret is that I have not found this product earlier. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who was considering purchasing it.

Impressed with results
I got this product after it was recommended by a friend, who had great results. I am very fair skinned with thick coarse hair and was a bit worried using it at first. I shouldn’t have been. I have been using it at least twice a week for a few months now and can really see the difference in my bikini, underarms and lip line. It is easy to use , it does get a bit warm but it is easy to tolerate. I was bored with shaving and waxing and lockdown made it very difficult to go to the salon. This was a saviour. I am very happy now that I have very little maintenance to do on my upper lip and underarms. Many of the hairs have stayed away and only a few have appeared back. They are few and far between and I am really happy with the results is such a short time frame. Have started now to us the product on my legs as I have to do my other areas less frequently. Can’t wait to stop waxing all together. The areas stay smoother for longer.

Finally found the one.
Absolutely love this product. I bought the Philips Lumea before and I wasn't able to use in on my skin tone even though it was within the skin tone range. This device is definitely more suitable for those with more melanin. I have only used it a couple time already on the lowest setting and already certain parts are hairless. Wish it could be cordless but that's a minor. I also experience some issues with the bluetooth settings to enable me to track my sessions on my phone but it's not very important. What's important is that it works.

Overall review
PACKAGING - Is simple and does not stand out amongst a range of other products - the colour Pink lends itself to female only customers although Males are featured on the packaging and can be use by both Male & FemaleCASE - limited space to contain all the elements of the product including the cables/instruction booklet.INSTRUCTION - long and tedious lots of warnings for use and contra-indications of use - feel the marketing of this should be apparent so potential purchases have an informed choicePRODUCT - is ok but the area of use is restricted as it replies upon mains operation (not cordless) - using the product is long term for best results and requires practice to achieve to correct strength depending on which area and hair type - some what of a time consuming effort patience and dedication is required with this product to get results

Excellent
I would say I was a veteran of IPL and a massive fan. My first device was a Phillips Lumea that I had about 5 years ago and was until now, the best. If you’ve never tried this method of hair ‘control’, the idea is that the pulses of infra red light are of sufficient intensity that they literally put your hair follicles ‘to sleep’ so there is no hair-growth. This eradicates the need for daily shaving and bristly stubble re-growth. I’ve also been an epilator addict in the past; still using this method for under-arms and my knees (IPL treatment heads are tricky to use around knees) and I used to hate the ingrown hairs I used to get on my legs with epilating.IPL does not produce ingrown hairs. What you have to be prepared for is an initial treatment period of at least 6 weeks before you reach the point of no hair. There is no pain involved, just the sensation of a sudden pulse of heat which you quickly get used to.I reached the point of no hair on my legs 5 years ago and I can’t stress enough how wonderful it is to have permanently soft, smooth hairless legs! Friends and colleagues are genuinely and enviously shocked when they feel how soft and smooth my legs are!I now only have to top up the treatment once every 6-8 weeks. That’s it!Now, my Phillips has served me well over the last 5 years, I’ve tried other brands along the way, for comparison and for a person of darker skin, none of the others have been any good. Lighter-skin would have been fine with them but these newer models tended to all have a sensor which would automatically measure the amount of melanin pigment in your skin and adjust the light intensity automatically without you needing to do a thing. Great if your skin is lighter but for me, it would just cut out determining my skin as being too dark. The old Phillips required you to choose an intensity level manually based on a chart of skin v hair colour in the manual, and I’m living proof that at the right setting, it’s perfectly safe for my skin tone. It was so frustrating that the newer models would over-zealously cut out.I know my Philips is on its way out because where I once got about 40 mins usage from a full charge, I know only get 15 mins but after 5 years of wonderfully soft skin, I can’t complain.............And this is where the Silkin takes over.... FINALLY, an IPL that accommodates darker skin. It’s simple to use, just like the Phillips and has a nice storage case too. Charger and lead included obviously and excellent instructions for use.It even includes a shaver as you ideally should shave before starting the IPL course, (I haven’t needed to use this) .If you’ve never tried IPL before, you really should and this is an excellent kit.If you’re a previous user and had issues with having darker skin, then finally here’s a device you can use. Please note when I say darker skin, I mean medium to dark brown.Very very dark brown is still likely to have problems. This is because the more melanin you have in your skin, the more of the light you absorb. Darker skins therefore need lower intensity pulses of light.Too much, and you can actually burn the skin. I speak from experience !!!
