It works
Amazon guy dropped this off at like 1-2 pm, and I plugged it in next to the food recycling bin. Expected little because of poor reviews but am desperate! When I went to check it at like 6 pm, there was like 8 or 9 tiny little flies in there (see picture)! So relieved! I might buy another one :)

Hopeless
I'm starting to wonder about the honesty of the positive reviews - like other people who have reviewed it since I bought it, I found it absolutely hopeless and the mosquitos I could see flying around me didn't show the slightest interest in it even if I literally held it right by them. Not even one of them came close though they did bite me. I've never had so many insect bites!! In addition a minor point is that the rubber plug to waterproof the charging bay was broken and didn't fit. Terrible item and a complete waste of money so I'm returning it. Very disappointed.

New camping toy
Saw these while browsing and thought it would be great for camping this year. The light has a really good solid feel to it and looks well made. It will fulfil several purposes so good for space saving - you can have it as a dim night light or a brighter lamp... and then it has the mosquito function too. Obviously haven't been able to test this aspect yet, but will report back after some camping testing later in the year when the nasty biters are out! Easy to charge via USB cable...

Doesn't Work as a Bug Killer - But Not a Bad Hanging Light
I have had this hanging up on constantly and regularly recharged for six weeks in a room where there has been a number of mosquitos most days and the occasional fly, and I can confidently say that not a single mosquito or fly has been zapped in all that time - in fact none has even gone near it. Absolutely no evidence of dead bug bodies anywhere in, on, near or below. So why have I given this two stars instead of one. Well because I never really expected it to work as a bug killer. It simply isn't powerful enough either in the UV light strength or the electrical zapper. I read reviews of more expensive and powerful UV killers and even some of those don't appear to work either. The only ones that do work are the very expensive and very high power ones that you see in some fast food restaurants. But, as a hanging camping light or emergency light for the home if the mains electricity fails, it is very handy, if rather expensive just for a light. It has three leves of brightness, and because it has a domed disperser lens, when it is hanging on its hook on a light fitting in near the ceiling, it lights up a whole room. So not a complete disaster, and an added 'advantage' if you like that sort of thing is that the low blue UV light acts as a comforting night light - especially useful in a tent or caravan - even if it won't kill any mossies!

Very expensive fancy light, *might* kill a bug if you're lucky
I bought this item as our home is getting infested with bugs this year due to hot weather and works in the garden. After a few weeks of testing I can say that it's a wonderful camping light and has a useful hook as well as decent battery life, it doesn't however make a good bug zapper, in fact it's the worst I can imagine. It hasn't killed anything for weeks. Yesterday we had our kitchen infested with flies due to big gardening job so left it switched on connected to the mains and after 24 hours it killed 1 fly... ONE. Our kitchen got swarmed with flies and it only killed ONE (I can't get over how bad this item is) so I pushed one fly into it, it got zapped and then flew away... I just don't know...To me it has 2 uses: torch and fancy blue torch albeit for over £20 in price it's just not worth it.Honestly get something else if you want to zap bugs in your home and save yourself some money.

Zap away those crazy flies and Mosquitoes
What a great bug zapper. I will feel the benefits when the summer arrives but it’s so lightweight I will take it abroad with me.I can stand it or hang it and it has a torch with 3 settings on it. The purple light has its own switch and the unit is charged via usb cableGreat item

Not good
Charge doesn't last long and flies are not attracted to itWe took it on a two day camping trip and only got to use it for the first night since the charge doesn't last that long. The zapping feature DOES NOT WORK!The charge lasts a couple of hours, and needs constant recharging. I purchased this lamp specifically for camping, but it didn't really work as well as I had hoped.

Bug zapper that needs brighter UV
Brought this on holiday to Mexico. It was very light weight and easy to charge with a great battery life. The problem I had was when the maids cleaned our room they would leave the doors open, giving the mosquitos instant access. I found it caught a few mosquitos but seemed ineffective during the day as the blue uv light isn't bright. However in pitch black, they will fly towards it and die. It didn't catch enough for me to call this an overwhelming success. For the price it might be worth a try. Please note - If transporting in suitcase, please ensure item is fully discharged.
