Cygnett CY0868CPWOR Workmate Shock-Absorbing Case for iPhone 5 & 5s (Slate Grey)

I wanted a good case this time. My iPhone 4 got smashed and fixed and then smashed again. I lived with a cracked screen for months and decided I wouldn't get my IPhone 5 until I had a case picked out. When I started shopping I was discouraged. Most cases that were real protective like the Otterbox made the phone seem really big. Most of the very small ones didn't give me the protection I wanted.This case seemed to be the best compromise so I ordered. So far (3 weeks) I'm not disappointed.Things I like:The "blue" is more like slate blue or grey as others have mentioned. I wasn't looking for a bold color statement so I'm pleased.Even the hard plastic shell piece feels slightly rubbery.The included screen protector went on easy and seems good.When I remove the case and put it back on, it doesn't seem to disturb the edges of the screen protector like some do.The edges are raised slightly at the front so when you set it face down the glass isn't touching anything.It feels solid to me, like it will offer a good amount of protection.Things I'm not as crazy about:I miss my naked phone. For the amount of protection I get I think this is pretty low profile - but naked is better.The opening for charging cable is small. it's not going to fit a larger adapter, but fits the regular cable just fine.As others have mentioned - volume and on/off buttons a little harder to press - but not enough to complain about.Also mentioned by others - the top and bottom pull away from the phone pretty easily. It doesn't ever come off or anything. When I read other reviews I was worried. In person it is fine for me, but I can see what they were talking about. If your phone was falling and tumbling just the right way I could see it striking the ground and coming out at one of the ends. But I think it would have to be a real death spiral that would be tough to survive any way.Overall, I'm very pleased. This is probably the lowest profile I could get and feel like I had the protection I want for a reasonable price. I struggled with 4 or 5 stars. It's not perfect - but I realized I'm never going to like a case enough to think it is because deep down I don't want one at all. For what it is, I think it deserves high marks.

This is my second Workmate. I had one for my iPhone 4 and used it for nearly two years and was very happy with it. When I decided to upgrade to the 5s, I did some searching for other cases but was biased in favor of the Workmate because of prior experience. I like the new Workmate and have been using it for a month now. It is slimmer but seems just as protective. It is also a bit more stylish in appearance. However, there is one design change from the iPhone 4 design that I wish Cygnett would revisit -- on the prior version there was a portion of the hard outer piece of the case that held the softer underpiece closely in place on the top side of the iPhone. Cygnett has dropped that top restraining piece. While the case "looks" nicer without it, I often find that when pulling the case out of my pocket, the top inner piece of the case peels or folds back a pit. That bothers me and I suspect that when I am ready to replace the case, I will look for a case that keeps the protective inner piece more secure.

Overall this is a great case. I had a iPhone 4 with the Otterbox Commuter case and after I saw the bulk the new Commuter adds to the iPhone 5, I began looking for something else. This case fits the bill nicely. It doesn't add much bulk but it adds the protection I was looking for. The top and bottom is a little loose but the sides are tight and so far haven't had any issues at all. The case comes with a lifetime warranty so if I do have problems, I'll contact Cygnett for a replacement.The color is definitely different but I had seen some videos so I knew what to expect. The color is more of a slate blue/gray rather than the blue you see in the picture. Search YouTube and you'll find video reviews and can see the color.If you were an Otterbox Commuter fan with the iPhone 4 but hate the new Commuter, this is a great alternative and frankly the best one I've seen. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is the color is misrepresented and again a little loose on the top and bottom, but at this point, I'm very pleased with the case.

I'll start out by saying that I am incredibly picky with my cases. With my iPhone 5 alone, before coming across this Cygnett case I went through 7 different cases. Everything from the well known Otterbox Defender, to lesser known brands and models like the Acase Dual Layer case.I have been using this case now on my phone for over a month and I absolutely love it. A few comments, I agree with the comments that say that it is more blue than grey, but it's a very soft tone of blue within the grey that it still looks excellent. Also, the initial fit is somewhat finicky. But once I got the fit correct, it both looks gorgeous and protects well.Now here's the best part. I'm currently using the Spigen GLAS.tR screen protector on my iPhone, and this case fits perfectly with that attacked. The GLAS.tR adds about .4mm of thickness to the iPhone, but the case is still able to keep that portion off the table if I lay it face down. Add in the Spigen aluminium home button cover and I have the perfect combination of form and function. Not too thick like some cases, not too thin that it doesn't provide enough protection, and still looks wonderful.I would recommend this case to anyone who is looking for a wonderful iPhone 5 case. If you're reading through these reviews like I always do and you're sitting on the fence, take my advice and order this one. It's a keeper.

Excellent, good protection & makes the iTouch much easier to hold

I searched around and read many reviews before ending up choosing this case, and I'm very happy with the choice I made. Surprisingly slim for a case providing this much protection, and while I read one review talk of an issue with the rubber being loose around top/bottom edges, this is a minor issue which has never bothered me at all. For future phones I'll be looking closely at the Cygnett brand.

A good protective case, very functional/robust. Not particularly stylish but for the price - good value.

My iphone 5s fit perfectly into the case. the edge is raised slightly over the screen, so less chance of cracking it if it lands face down. I've dropped my phone numerous times and it's remained in tact.
