Wish it was a little more flexible
My husband is a handy man and uses this for for dry wall mud and texture. I personally used this while doing some knock downs on a very textured roof and it did the job great. It has no complaints from me. My husband on the other hand says that it is a wonderful tool to have but, he wishes it was a bit softer to comidate for easier mobility and less creasing in the mud.

Advantageous tool for a novice
Used this to skim coat / smooth a very coarse sand texture out of a bathroom ceiling. Having never done any sort of skim coating, I was looking for any advantage and heard this type of tool could greatly ease the work. This absolutely gave me the advantage. It only took a couple of passes to get the feel of it, and the work went quickly once I did. I spent more time mixing up the joint compound to the right consistency and applying it to the ceiling than I spent smoothing it out with this tool. It was very easy to get things smooth and leave minimal ridges or marks behind. The 18 inch width felt perfect for the size of my project, and I wouldn't have wanted anything narrower. If I had a larger project, I'd maybe even go for a wider model. As mentioned above, I was smoothing out a very coarse sand texture that was applied the last time the ceiling had been painted. That texture did scrape up the rubber edge a small bit on the first coat or two, due to getting the feel of it and applying too much pressure at first. So the rubber edge on mine is not completely smooth anymore, and was leaving very fine lines on the final coat. But any lines that were left behind were very quickly removed by going over with a damp sponge. While I can't speak to how it would hold up to daily use in the hands of someone doing this work for a living, it worked marvelously for me on my single project and I'm keeping it around for future use as well.

Good Tool. Dont forget to practice the technique
Good tool for the value. The real quality of the job is the right technique, right consistency mud and right wall prep. Always get a few different size tools and learn how it feels.

Works great
If you're wanting to do a knockdown texture, this is super easy to use. Just make sure you wipe it off between ease locking down.

I am a 40 year pro
I'm a professional that does a lot of drywall finishing. This is my go to tool. Skimming walls over old texture is a dream. Hardly need to sand them, it's like a plaster putty coat you can get it so smooth. Same with drywall joints, you can really feather the edges so fast. The real dream however comes when you are doing patches, I do a lot of them. With this tool you can really fill out the edges better than with a steel knife. I ordered both of the sizes and also I have some others by a different manufacturer, these are the best by far because the blade is wider so you can more easily scrape off the mud into the pan as you are working. With the others out there the blade is more narrow like a squeegee and you can't easily scrape them off into the pan as you are working. I would give this product 10 stars if I could.

Saved my sanity while de-texturing walls
I have done a fair bit of mudding in my time and have always found the work miserable. These days I am working in my parents new old home de-texturing the walls and ceiling which is quite the monotonous task. I often and looking for ways to improve my efficiency and this is probably the best money I have spent in doing that. This tool allows me to get smooth results with almost no ridges which cuts down on the sanding by 1000% for the people leaving negative reviews I would recommend making sure your mud is mixed a little more wet and work 5x8 ft sections at a time so that it doesn't set up before you skim it out.

Great tool for skim coating
Great tool!!! The only reason why I’m giving 4 stars is because the size. We bought an 18-inch and it was too big for some parts of the wall, so it was kind of our fault but there was no other size option then. Overall it helped with our skim coating project and my husband was really thankful for it.

Magic Trowel
The blade is stiffer than other similar makes. I apply floor and wall coatings and these provide the perfect finish

This is plastic & not very strong
Bought this to help with a ceiling skim coating project and it was really hard to work with. Ended up giving up and using a normal drywall knife on a ladder instead of this. It’s not very strong
