Street Atlas Review..
It works well as an additional map for your computer. They made it unnecessarily complicated to use. Not very intuitive and to pan the map is very cumbersome.I suggest that you play with the software for a week before you take it on a trip. Otherwise you may be very frustrated trying to use it.I was using it on back country roads and it was plenty fine for that use... I did see the negative reviews but it is a good enough tool to keep you from getting lost... I would use it as an adjunct to your cars GPS... Trying to navigate with this on a laptop would be a nightmare not unless you have another person with you...

Works well, just like all the previous versions
I have been using Street Atlas USA for at least 20 years, so this review will be biased by that. This 2015 version continues what I consider to be their long line of great software. As I am experienced with how they do things, this program is easy for me to use. But I do have to say my wife, who is not an experienced user, nor a computer genius, had no problems using it.I realize that there are a lot of other ways to get maps online and on portable devices today, unlike years ago. But sometimes the best way is the way we are most comfortable with, and this program is like an old friend. We use Amazon for most of our purchases and I update my reviews if anything changes with the products. I do this so other Amazon users can get a real feel for the life of the product. I am not associated with any company and all opinions are my very own.

Do not buy! The product does not work with Windows 10 and is worthless. Use free Mapquest instead.
I bought this miserable piece of software to replace the Microsoft Streets and Trips which is no longer available. I use it to plan out road trips and to find addresses. It is extremely difficult to use and often cannot find the locations I am looking for when given the complete address. The Microsoft product was so easy to use and provided a lot more information on trip details like distance and time. My advice is not to buy this software.Added in 2017: This software is no longer usable with Windows 10. I will no longer find addresses and I get and error every time I try. It is totally worthless at this point so I have deleted it from my PC. I strongly recommend not wasting your money on it. Mapquest works and is FREE!

Better for technically savy folks.
Still confusing and difficult to use as ever! We have been using DeLorme Street Atlas for over 10 years since purchasing our motorhome. Has a definite learning curve. Entering point A and point B are not too bad, it is the little things, like changing settings, making it take the route you want, and the missing roads that make this program frustrating. We had tried Streets and Trips at one point, but had issues with that as well. We updated from 2012 to 2015 but don't see much difference. Still have to use Google Maps to find some places then put a Stop location on the map where the road SHOULD be, but isn't, on Street Atlas. One annoyance that 2015 has is that it seems to randomly change the map to point in the direction of travel, which we both hate. We want it pointing North all the time. When we go into options, the box for rotating in the direction of travel is greyed out and it IS unchecked, so we don't know why it does it. Clicking on the arrow in the compass circle on the right side of the screen seems to fix it for a while. We used to do drive-by home occupancy inspections, and would do up to 60 in a day. This program was the only way we could successfully create our route around town. We would enter them in as stops, with our home as start and finish, and then rearrange and compute route until it looked like a good round trip. Of course we ran into problems with newer communities, but would then just find the location in Google and and it in on the map.The main plus of this program is that when using it on a nice 17" laptop (with a matte screen!) we can see surrounding areas and if we want to look at alternate routes, it is easier than on a 5.5" phone or 5" Tom Tom, which we have both as well.Overall, we like it and use it alot, but it could be more accurate and easier to use.

I understood that this pgm would not be as good as S&T
Having read prior reviews, I understood that this pgm would not be as good as S&T. But even though my expectations were lowered, I am still disappointed. This is a clunky program and even though I've spent a good amount of time with it, it is far far short of what a decent mapping program should be. What I don't understand is why one of these software companies either don't buy the old S&T programming and remarket it or just don't copy the features and intuitiveness of S&T.

Not up to contemporary standards
Works in Windows 8.1. I had to save addresses in the address book in order for the program to find them. Entering a one-timer address search fails to find pretty much every address that I tried. I couldn't figure out how to default the map to Chicago; it kept starting in Salt Lake City. Directions from the saved addresses does seem to work. It does have all the streets in the country. I couldn't get any nice things like satellite view. It's functional at best. I expected to be wowed in 2016, but was not.

Product does not look like it has been truly updated in some time very similar (mapping) to 2009 version. Mapping in the spaghetti bowl around Newark Airport is very poor, same as 2009, Google maps has it right, not hard to fix. Other than those issues it does provide at a reasonable price a more than adequate routing program with waypoints, ability to highlight roadways and keep file for records, have many older files that are still valuable and usable.
