when installing some new exterior video cams i had one cable wasn't long enough to get it where i wanted it to be mounted. as i'd used the old extension i had on hand with an existing cam and that worked great. consequently why i went ahead and ordered this onethe cable itself appears well made, no obvious issues. as to how well it works? just fine with absolutely no issues but a caveat for some users in regards to hardware limitations for usb power delivery which applies to all usb cables.so before posting this feedback i noticed one reviewer who politely dinged the cable saying it was a power vampire in a manner of speaking? when it comes to power & usb sources cable length matters. usb 2 stubbornly remains the most common type of usb power sources but provide only a trickle of power.in my experience when going beyond approx. 15' you need a usb power source with more power than you could use with something shorter in length. by 'the book' USB 2.0 spec limits the length of cables to 16’ 5”. USB 3 has a limit of 30 meters or approx. 98’ 5” e.g. 6x the distance. So without using additional hardware in the mix the cables, this extension, our expectations for its use needs keep in mind design limitations. the total distance matters not just the length of the extension cable.most recent example when hooking up exterior cams one using the manufacturers power supply total length at 26' and the cam wouldn't function. i then swapped it out with a more powerful amazon echo usb plug and all worked fine. i performed the same test on another and had to do the same swap to get it function. all of those cams worked using their stock power supplies when used with shorter cables(10') that came with.i have gone through this in the past, having learned the hard way when managing the installation of our town's new systems as well as in my own office/home. to reiterate a usb 3 port averages 7 watts, a 'regular' usb 2 port puts out at most 2.5 watts. also why you on some pc's you can only charge devices using the designated usb 3 port not the other slower usb 2 ports.so in this instance what the one reviewer missed in regards to power delivery with this or any usb extension cable is that how much power going in matters as much or more so than the cable length,in total, used to move it from point a to point b.all said i would not hesitate to purchase another of these extension cords. IF however i needed this primarily for transferring data i would then need to get a usb 3 cable, those have different male ends as well as internal difference. but again only if data was my priority not power.

Successfully used to extend my Zigbee and Z-wave dongles away to avoid interference from the USB-3.0/USB 3.1 ports of my miniPC I use for my Home Assistant setup. My dongles are as reliable as expected.

Great when you need a USB extension cable

This is a great extension cable. It's well built and hasn't given me any issues. I have a few of these cables and I've used them to extend PC components to a tower that was in an adjacent room. I have not experienced any lag in response when using them with mice, keyboards, and various other USB devices. This brand has great prices and hasn't ever let me down.

We recently purchased a desk to act as our docking station for our laptops and needed something to extend the range of our iPhone/iPad USB cable so that we could charge our devices in the drawer instead of having them on the desk. Since the stock USB cord wasn't long enough we needed something to extend it and found this cord.Having used Monoprice cords for some audio applications and knowing that they were a great value for the price I decided to buy this. I liked how it was white, which matched our iPhone/iPad cable (even though the way we have our setup done you can't see the cord anyway). And again, a 6 foot USB cord for a little over $6 is a pretty great bargain.We've had no issues with this product - it charges our iPhones and iPad just as good as the stock cord and I even updated the OS on one of our devices using this extended cord and I had no issues. There are really no downsides to this product and I would highly recommend to anyone who needs to extend a USB cord they have but don't want to spend a lot of money.

I've had good luck with Monoprice before, and this cable was no exception. It's a little cheaper to order directly from Monoprice (even with shipping), but the speed of Amazon shipping made it worth it to get it here for me. Not a lot to say other than that it works and has held up well for the admittedly short amount of time I've had it. I also have the 3-ft version have had no problems with it, either. The color of the cable was somewhat important for my purposes, so I'm glad they make this in a white version (bright white, not beige; there is also a black version, but Monoprice seems to be one of few vendors of white cables).A special consideration for this 10-ft cable is distance limitations for USB. That limit is 5 m (about 16 ft) for USB 2.0 at High Speed 480 Mpbs and USB 1.1 at Full Speed 12 Mpbs. The limit is 3 m (9.8 ft) for USB 1.1 at Low Speed 1.5 Mpbs. Unless the device you're using has a really long USB cable, the former situation is not likely to matter, but the latter (USB Low Speed) situation may be important. For example, it was unreliable for me with one mouse, though others were fine. If you do need longer distances than allowed in either case, you can use either a USB hub (the distance count starts over at the hub) or an active repeater cable. I have an active repeater cable from Monoprice that also works well.

Worked great. I still have it so it has held up to multiple uses. The cord is a suitable length. I don't like the obnoxiously long ones.

I bought this cable to act as an extension cord for my charging station which came with a very short USB cable. Now I can leave the charging station on a shelf instead of taking up space on my desktop. It transfers power efficiently (batteries recharge fast.) I haven't used the cable for data transfer, but then that's not why I got it.

Does its job perfectly. I bought it to use a Leap Motion with my HTC Vive as the Leap cable won't fit into the integrated USB port. This one was just bound to the existing wiring so it didn't get in the way and allowed me to stick my Leap Motion onto the front of the Vive.Of course, this cable would be totally fine for other purposes. Looks to be of good quality and I would recommend it.

I bought this wires because the default Apple wires to charge my Ipad/Pod are too small. I used to use an extension cord but having the white cubical plug on the bed did not seem safe and the plug itself gets pretty hot so I decided to give this cord a try. WoW it worked perfectly! This works wonderful when charging my Ipod and I feel safe when using it.
