Janome 219S Sewing Machine - Just Released

Bought the machine for my wife as her 35 year old Janome sewing machine finally bought the bullet, so the new Janome bought with a bit of trepidation due to the price has turned out to be even better, the old one has made several wedding dresses, bridesmaids dresses ball gowns , many children’s clothes, curtains by the dozen and so much more the list is endless, so if the new machine lasts as long, we will be long gone and forgotten. Janome, Japan made, Quality, tension, ease of use, threading, speed, just what you expect from them. Brilliant thanks.

I have not used a sewing machine in years although I was very keen on dressmaking in my younger days. I had amassed several garments which needed shortening and various other jobs which could be easily tackled with a sewing machine rather than by hand so I did some research and purchased this Janome 219S. It is absolutely perfect for me as I only need it for very basic sewing jobs. The machine comes with a dust cover and is light enough to be easily lifted onto the table. There is a printed instruction book with it so it's easy to refer to it when needed rather than having to download instructions online as is often the case these days. It's a really good basic little machine, it feels well built and can do do everything I need it to at a very reasonable price. I am really pleased with it and have no criticisms to make apart from the foot pedal is so light it wanders about a bit, but that is a very minor thing.

I have just started sewing, and after much deliberation settled on this one as l didn't want to "run before l jump". It's great! Easy to use, with good, clear instructions. Not too noisy, and performs well. Comes with a few useful extras too and has a built in light. Very happy!

My regular machine broke down and I needed one to finish a project. This is lightweight and works well! It's very basic with few whistles and bells but does the job efficiently.

Has all the features you need and I'm very experienced in their use. Suitable for all skill levels. Someone gave one star for no light, it does! Another gave one star as it has a UK plug and they lived in Germany! This is a great machine at a great price.

It's been years since I last used a sewing machine! I've read the reviews and decided to go with them. Easy to follow instructions and now I'm sewing old material to get used to it. I am not disappointed! It's a great machine for those of us who are a bit 'rusty' (!) and beginners alike! Highly Recommended and I've given it 5 stars!A few more days in and now I've started to sew. I'm making fleece pads for my guinea pigs and I cannot fault this machine. It's no trouble to thread and it likes the pre-wound spools I bought from Amazon,the needle picks the spool thread with no fuss. Just clean the spool housing by gently hoovering out the lint dust and change the needles regularly, the machine will last years!

After years of cursing my second hand 1960s sewing machine for lack of instructions, it's weight and faulty stitching, I finally decided to go for it and purchase a new one for my latest project.I only need a basic machine for occasional sewing jobs and I cannot fault this at all, it lightweight, compact but sturdy. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, it does all the basic stitches with adjustable stitch length and has more feature than I am likely to use.I am extremely pleased with it, my single small grip is that the foot pedal is very light and not very grippy so it walks away from me on the hard flooring but it is very minor!

I’m really happy with this sewing machine. My ‘cheap’ Singer broke recently and when looking at what was available, this one sounded like good quality for an excellent price. It’s solid, stays in place, sews really well, I’ve only done simple things so far, but it’s all been easy to do without any issues. I think it’s a great buy.
