Reliable Door/Window Transmitter for Honeywell Lynx
I now have one of these on every external door of my house, as well as a few other internal doors (like the basement door) and a few windows.** In the Box **They're really easy to install, and they come in a box with a plastic mounting plate, a magnet and magnet spacer, the proper screws for mounting everything, some double-sided tape (which is okay for indoor use, but I'd rather use the screws!), and an A123 battery (see my picture above for an overview of all the included bits).** Quality and Installation **The design is pretty minimal, and fits in okay with the white door and window trim in my house. Honeywell also makes a 'slimline' version of this sensor that's much narrower--but also much more expensive! The sensor is easy to maintain--every couple of years (when a battery dies), just push in the tab on the bottom with your fingernail and pop off the front cover (your alarm system will start beeping at this point, since you're 'tampering' with the transmitter... ignore it and reset it when you're done). Pop out the old battery, put in a new one, then replace the cover. Nothing to it.** Function and Battery Life **These sensors use two Loops for sensing door/window open and close states: Loop 2 (most common) is used with a magnetic reed switch (magnet must be within an inch or so of the reed switch sensor), and Loop 4 lets you use a wired contact (installation is more difficult, and probably uncommon). As long as you have a flat surface on the door and on your door casing or wall within an inch or so of each other, you can just mount the magnet to the door, and the transmitter to the wall/door trim, and you're done!I installed my Honeywell L5100PK - LYNX Touch security system a few months ago, and haven't yet had a battery die. A few other people I know have a similar Lynx system, and nobody seems to have any complaints about battery life.** Recommendation **Buy enough of these to cover every entry/exit in your house, and you're set! Get the slimline version if you can afford it--otherwise, these things work great and are very reliable.

Simple and effective
These work so simply and easily with my Honeywell L3000 / Lynx Plus security system. I purchased a kit that included 3 and purchased 6 more for other doors and windows. The automatic setup allowed me to add them all in a matter of minutes. The case is a tad bulky so that shades usually hit it on the way down. Minor inconvenience, but if you raise and lower shades frequently, you may want to get the Ademco Honeywell 5811 Thin Door/Window Contact for those window locations.

Excellent price and they sync perfectly with the ADT-provided L7000
Excellent price and they sync perfectly with the ADT-provided L7000 . No need to call them and you can install yourself unless you have Pulse. They have to manually add the sensors in that case for them to show up in the app. The home unit however recognizes them just fine and you can bypass any extra installation costs by doing it yourself. Pretty easy and worked the first time around. This particular sensor is very bulky and ugly. I would pay the extra 3 bucks to get the 5815 instead.

works great
I am so happy I found this item online, after 12 years in my house with my ADT alarm system I had one of these go out (telling me constantly that my window was open when it wasn't) so the alarm company said I had to pay $80 for a new one, plus labor of $25 to have it installed. Buying this online and following the directions I found at another site linked it up and it works great with my existing alarm system.

ADT Monopoly BROKEN
So ADT systems typically come with 3 transmitters, my house has 13 entry points (doors and windows). I asked the installer how much it would cost to arm the remaining 10 doors and windows to which he reply's, "$125 dollars per transmitter plus $150 dollars to have an ADT tech come out and program them". Math time 10x125=$1,250 plus 150 for the tech, $1,400 bucks! Not that I am cheap I just knew there must be a better way. Then I found these little gems! For 20 bucks each and a programming video from you tube,[...]I was able to arm my entire house for $250 bucks and about an hours worth of work.Great product EXCELLENT price!

Perfect OEM Replacement
Perfect OEM unit from Honeywell. Replace existing unit and alarm company programmed remotely with the new serial number. Works great and the battery lasts forever. I actually bought replacement batteries after 10 years of use and found out that original batteries were still going strong.

Does the trick!
Not as discrete as the slimline contact but does the job. Use a pair of these in the basement for large basement windows where aesthetics aren't a priority so saving a few bucks was an option. Easy to install, easy to program. Don't be intimidated by doing the programming yourself, many YouTube videos.
