Probably better for the ceiling.
First tip: these shouldn't cost more than a couple bucks a piece. Head to your nearest hardware store instead.I am using these to hang wall sconces and the idea behind them is that they do not get nailed into a stud or rafter like most electrical boxes. This is nice if you want to put them in places that do not have a stud within a couple of inches. They work but are a pain to install. An essential part of the directions not included on the carlon instructional template for cutting the hole in the drywall is how to operate the flaps - this is essential as the flaps are what secure your equipment to the wall. What I ended up doing after losing two of the flaps behind the drywall forever was to use the piece of drywall I had cut out of the wall as a guide to how much space there should be between the flap and the edge of the box. Then you can take a screw driver to the screws holding the flaps and get the screws all the way through the guides holding the flaps which will make it so they don't fall off, and then keep screwing until the flaps are high enough to secure the width of your drywall. This made installation a heck of a lot easier and more effective, and I think it will hold. I will update later if it doesn't.

Works as intended
I keep reading about a missing ground screw but this is a plastic box there’s no way to ground plastic?! You would tie ground wires together, call a electrician if you think you can ground a plastic box

Good when complete
Two of the boxes were missing mounting hardware. I had to rob on completely to make two other mountable.

Missing Ground Screw
The product pictures a ground screw. The product received does not have this piece. I should have read the other reviews before purchase. Not an electrician, but now I don’t know what to do with my ground cable. Not worth it for me to return but will have to buy another one. Disappointed with purchase.
