Cover is like a Hardback Book
I've recently been reacquainting myself with my large collection of adult coloring books. This one stands out for 2 reasons. One is the simply beautiful online pics some reviewers have posted (already colored). The second is that the book and paper quality really are superior to most coloring books. The cover is close to being a hardback without actually being a hardback book, if that makes sense. I like the matte finish. The paper is nice and thick. As for the pictures I look for something medium difficulty. I don't want too much tiny intricate detail. Yes a few of the pictures are a little simple, but most are just right. I plan to purchase more in the series.Edit: I just noticed amazon no longer carries this series new direct from amazon? It's through other sellers and the prices vary.

Finally a coloring book that makes me want to color
I bought a couple of nice coloring books in the last few years but when it was time to color it felt like work. and so i didnt. Then I saw Color Me Calm in a waiting room and I soooo liked it ! I searched and found it. Then I found this, Color Me Happy, and got it too. Good move. Even if it says paperback, it's more like a semi-rigid cover and you don't need any support to color with the book on your lap while sitting in a lounge chair. What I also like is the books already have some color, the cover, a few examples, a nice light print on the reverse of the pages... so right away you get to look and feel beauty and it makes me feel good before i even start coloring. The book I received was in perfect condition , and such a great price ! I wasn't sure if it was the same quality, the price was so low, but yes it is !

Relieve some stress from your life and be a kid again!
I bought this for my granddaughter's birthday and she loves it, even though she's a teenager! There are stories interspersed with really pretty illustrations and coloring pages created by an artist and an illustrator to offer an enjoyable way to relax and spend some peaceful time. I like all of the coloring pages although I couldn't find the front picture in the book - maybe it was just my edition or an error. The tips on color theory are helpful and the way the book is put together in an interesting way keeps my attention throughout. Also there are blank pages offered where you can create your own designs and feel inspired to expand your artistic skills! It's hard to get the book to lay flat since it's hardcover, but I open it to where I want to color and then leave a heavy book there for several hours which makes it more manageable. I also put a few pieces of typing paper beneath the page I'm coloring so here won't be any "bleed-through" from my markers. This would be a great gift for your children or grandchildren, or even for yourself! You'll be glad you bought it.

Impressive
I love this book and have gotten many hours of enjoyment out of it. The quality is great, and there's even extra blank pages I use to test colors on. That being said, I do have to complain that many of the pictures seem slightly dated to me. There are too many mandalas and a lot of the architecture designs are boring. Wish there were more nature scenes because almost all of those are fantastic.

It makes me happy, for the most part...
This is my first adult coloring book, so I don't really have anything to compare it to. I find most of the images beautiful (there are a few that are "meh" to me... the baby ones [I agree with a former reviewer that they are just a little creepy]... and some where the people are blank/have no features, I find those odd too). The pages are thick and printed only on 1 side, so if you use gel pens to color, you don't have to worry about it bleeding through and ruining the next picture. The MAIN REASON I subtracted a star :: These coloring books need to be spiral bound!!! It is so frustrating having to place heavy objects to hold the book open. Having the spiral binding would prevent this issue so easily. I love the hard cover, love the paper quality, just pleasepleaseplease fix the binding and I will be a happy coloring camper.

HAPPY!!!
The Color Me_________ Series of coloring books are the best adult coloring books on the market! The books are divided into several chapters, each having a theme. At the beginning of each chapter there is an inspirational statement, reaffirming life. There is a nice balance of simple to intricate designs to keep the novice and advanced artist interested and busy! The pages are filled with everyday things and beautiful mandalas. Constructed of heavyweight paper, printed on one side, colored pencils glide. Gel pens and water based markers will not bleed through. Alcohol based markers will. Like all books a blotter is recommended just in case. The cover is make of a stiffer cardboard, and the pages are stitched in the binding. You can lay the book flat without breaking the binding. The only drawback is that you can not remove the pages since they are not perforated. These books are like potato chips...once you have one you'll want the others!!

One awesome coloring book!!!!
What an awesome coloring book! There are 100 templates to color that are grouped in various themes....something for every taste. I use gel pens with no bleed-through as well as colored pencils. The templates are printed in black over very crisp white pages so they are easy to see, a bonus for someone like me who needs reading glasses to see anything close up. Remember when you were young and you got a new coloring book and crayons and could not wait to get home, open the book, and start coloring the pictures? That is how this book is for me. I take it to work and often color when on a break or during lunch. It is amazing how doing something as simple as coloring helps improve your mood, relaxes your stressed shoulders, and puts a smile on your face. It also challenges your imagination....who said leaves had to be gree anyway?.. If you can manage to get this book, you will truly enjoy it. It does what is says....Color Me Happy!!!! Enjoy.

Well presented book.
I love the "colour me…" collection. They are great books that are created by two authors. One is a specialist in art therapy and the other is an illustrator. The book is divided up into sections that relate to feeling happy. There is an introduction as to the relevance of the section to feeling happy. All the images relate to the title of the section (section two is all about animals and babies so all the images contain these two things) and there is a blank page at the end of each section where you can add your own illustration that means something to you. All images are single sided and the paper quality is good. The reverse side is patterned so it gives the book a nice feel and each section is colour coded so it really feels like the book is put together without a missed detail. There are currently three further editions in this series and another due out in April.

VERY HAPPY CUSTOMER
My first colouring book since being a child and I love it. I am now 52! The quality of the paper is excellent and it is a 'hard' softback!! Sharpies do go through but as there is only one drawing per page, this is not an issue with a piece of card between the pages. I bought another by the same artist. Highly recommended.

First colouring book
Bought this as my first book to colour. Great variety of pictures. Bought pencils and pens to use and found the pencils better. Some pics are quite intricate.

Daughter Loves It
I bought this for my daughter, and she loves it. It is a great time waster. She said she felt she had accomplished something - she has as 6 month old, and this gives her something to relax with.
