IKEA 001.692.54 Fixa Tool Kit, 17Piece, orange &white, large

I bought this as a white elephant Xmas gift for a party but ended up with it myself, and I have been surprised to find it so useful. It is extremely handy to have this compact toolbox in my office, so I don't have to go rummaging through the tool collection in the basement when I just need to hang a picture on the wall. The case is sturdy and about the size and thickness of a large hardback book. The hammer is shorter than standard, but it has a good heft to it, with a heavy forged steel head, not like the little pretend hammers you get in other small tool sets. I like the hammer's cushy handle, and the rubber tip that fits over the hammer head saved me from marking up the wall when I pounded in nails. The screwdriver has 12 different attachments in different sizes - 2 flat, 6 philips head, 3 allens, and a pointy awl. These are cleverly magnetized so they snap into the handle with ease. The wrench is standard, with a shortened handle, and the pliers are standard snubnosed grabbers including a wire cutter which I have not tried. All in all, this is an excellent little tool set and would be great for young adults just starting out, for the office, or just as a convenient at-hand alternative to the family tool pile.

I first bought one of these for use in my classroom where I had limited space and frequent need for a basic tool kit. Since then I have purchased them for other teachers and for my mom and other family members. It is so convenient to be able to just slip this in a drawer so that it is convenient whenever you need it. Good product!

Product is great but when received, the lid near the lock was broken. I suppose during shipping. Otherwise it's a great toolbox and a must have toolbox for any home

Arrived in a timely manner. Tools seem to be better than other kits you can buy. Purchased for a young person who is getting their first apartment and needed basic tools . I main reason I picked this tool kit was of the plastic case to store everything in so they don't get lost in a drawer somewhere. My only disappointment was the case came broken. I guess I can tape it , just hate to do that when it's new.

It is a useful tool for home, and office. It is neat and takes small space. It is good to set up the furniture.

I used this kit to fix my Ikea bed, drawers, TV unit, coffee table, side table and a couple of chests. It's a very basic kit and has all the manual tools (except nails of course) that one needs to fix Ikea furniture. The tools are sturdy and not even very heavy. I have been able to make use of all of them and never felt I wanted anything more in the kit so pretty happy. Also, the cost is excellent compared to the other tool kits available on Amazon. However, if bought from Ikea store directly, this would come cheaper. I couldn't have gone because Ikea is pretty far from where I stay so ordered online.

Surprisingly good quality for such a small, inexpensive set. The case is wonderful & keeps these essential tools neatly stored with ease. Makes a fantastic gift for anyone starting out in their own home or apartment -- or to include in an Operation Christmas Child box for a teenage boy. Thanks, IKEA! Great product!

Arrived missing the screwdriver heads, so it's completely useless. The case arrived broken, too. Unfortunately I can't return it now for some reason, but what a POS.
