Nice 2" hitch receiver, very easy install on 2014 Toyota RAV4 XLE
Great value and EASY to install. A class III/IV hitch on a RAV4 (which has limited towing capacity) it overkill, but if you need a 2" hitch receiver (for bike racks, towing small trailers, etc) this is a great choice.Received this item within 2 days. Packaging was excellent though understandably large. The hitch receiver arrived with hardware necessary for installation (4 hardened bolts and lock washers) and a good set of instructions in 4 languages. It looks OK installed (see photos) but does reduce ground clearance in steeper approach angles; probably not an issue for 99% of RAV4 drivers. Cosmetically I don't like having the hitch receiver hanging down, but the only hidden alternative I found (Torklift Central ECO Series Stealth Trailer Hitch) cost 2x+ and requires a bodyshop to install it. So this one will work for me.Installation on my 2014 Toyota RAV4 XLE took about 40 minutes but I took it slow and carefully. I'm a typical DIY homeowner but I don't normally work on my own cars. I haven't used the setup yet but can't see that there will be any problems. I'll update the review if there are. You'll need 17mm and 19mm sockets and a longish ratchet. A socket extender and torque wrench would be nice but not required. The 17mm socket is used to remove the tiedown on the drivers side (the hitch replaces it). The 19mm socket is used for the bolts used to mount the hitch. The socket extender allows for easier access and wider wrench throw and the torque wrench may provide peace of mind that you've torqued the new bolts down adequately.First you need to remove the factory tiedown on the drivers side (used during shipping of the car?). It's held on with two bolts that came out easily. Next you uncouple the rubber exhaust hanger on the passenger side to get easier access to the frame. You can do this easily by hand or use a screwdriver to help slide it off. Next you position the hitch receiver under the car; you don't need to jack the car up - there is plenty of room to work. This next step may vary for you if you find the hitch receiver heavy (~50 lbs); you may find it easier if someone helps you or maybe rest the hitch receiver on a box or something to support the weight. I lifted the hitch receiver on the passenger side and guided it around the exhaust, then threaded a bolt a ways (NOT TIGHT) into the rearmost hole which is easiest to access (the Toyota frame has threaded bolt holes in the frame). then I threaded the forward bolt on the passenger side. At this point the hitch receiver can hang by itself on the passenger side. Then I moved to the drivers side, lifted the hitch receiver and threaded the two bolts there. I then torqued down all the bolts and rehung the rubber exhaust hanger (it slides easily by hand back onto the mounting point). At this point with the exception of cleanup, you're done.I finished the installation off with a 2" Toyota hitch plug (available on Amazon). I've purchased a wiring kit for the brake lights and I'll report on that when it's done. I've read that will take 3-4 hours.

Installed this on 2015 RAV4 XLE
I installed this on my 2015 RAV 4 XLE alone, which took about an hour. Having a helper would certainly move this along faster, but if you can negotiate the weight alone it can be done. Did have to unhook the rubber support of the muffler which can be tricky, but that was the hardest part. The hitch has performed well for the two months it has been installed. No loosening of bolts, and no sounds/vibrations while in motion. I paired this with the " CURT 18151 Basket Style Cargo Carrier " and " CURT 21510 Coated Hitch Pin and Clip ". I expect this to be with the vehicle for years to come.Aesthetically, I would have preferred there was no silver edging around the hitch insert. The product photo doesn't show this accurately, so look at the customer photos for the view.

This a perfect fit with the 2015 Toyota Rav4
This a perfect fit with the 2015 Toyota Rav4.Pros: No cutting/drilling required for this to fit!! You just have to remove the installed tow hook from the one side and use the existing holes on both sides to install. I was able to install while this was parked in my driveway.Con: Check carefully that the mounting holes do lineup when you receive this. Mine was sent in a large cardboard box with NO Packing protection. As such, I think it may gotten ever so slightly out of alignment on 1 side. I had to shim I slightly to get 1 hole to lineup right for the bolt.Once it was installed, I have had no issues. The included Reese Hitch Cover is just a plastic cover, but aesthetically is nicer than just an open hold when not in use.

It was not bad at all
It was delivered right to the door, and i was afraid i could not pick it up because i am not as strong as i use to be. It was not bad at all, i put it on a small trash can on one side and a box on the other after taking the muffler off the rubber carriers. it fit perfectly in the required holes. I did take off the passenger side hook so i used those holes as per the directions. It took me only 35 min and i did think i could do it, but i did and felt good about it. It looks Great and now i am ordering the electrical wiring for the lights. Awesome!!!

The trailer hitch set up was very easy to install on my Rav4
The trailer hitch set up was very easy to install on my Rav4. There were no issues putting it on. I had to remove a plastic cover to put on the hitch and then modify it to put it back on. I also had to put the exhaust side on first and push hard on the exhaust pipe to get the hitch on. The big issue I had was the bolts come inside the barrel of the hitch and you do not see them if you do not look inside. I thought they were missing at first.

Very easy to install
Very easy to install. I used a jack on one side to raise the receiver. Then I just lifted the other side. The holes were aligned so I did not have any trouble like the others where the side plates may have bent due to shipping. When I received the box, the box was broken all over and I was afraid the plates might be bent. But lucky for me, no damage. Watching the installation in Youtube helped a lot. So don't forget to watch it before starting the installation.

Buy it Already!
Perfect fit for my 2014 RAV4. Instructions were illustrated and clear. Also, it was priced less than the similar Curt brand and looks just as nice if not nicer. I took out the stickers and the included Reese plug and replaced it with a Toyota plug for a cleaner and OEM look. I'm planning to use it for my bike rack just in time for summer. Very happy and will definitely recommend this 2" hitch from Reese.
