Shiba Inus (Complete Pet Owner's Manuals)

Great book! This book gave you history on the Shiba Inu and touched all bases on how to care for your dog. I took many notes from this book and will definitely refer back to it when I receive my Shiba next month. The display of the book was also very good. The reading was easy and the images were gorgeous.

I will be bringing home my first Shiba Inu this coming June, so I wanted some breed-specific information since they're not a super common type of dog in my area. This book gives a great overview of the breed and how to best approach training for a stubborn and intelligent dog like the Shiba. Great purchase for $9!

Well written (i found only 2 typos) with lots of general information, mostly breed specific (however there was some misinformation about the origin of the breed). The really important topics such as diet and food, grooming techniques, coat care, trimming nails, recommended products, products and brands to avoid, etc.. are painfully brief or not covered. Overall, a good book to read and have on hand if you are a new Shiba owner, especially if you have a puppy.

SHIBA INU MANUEL FOR DUMMIES I really liked this book, because it really simplifies everything about owning, raising, and finding a Shiba Inu. I recommend this book myself, my Baby Shiba is 14 years old and he still looks great, they love attention. I was told if there was one word a Shiba could say it would be: "Mine". "mine, mine, mine, mine, mine......" They look at everything around them as theirs.

I've looked at a few books on Shiba Inus (of course, we have one) and this book seems to be a great combination of a visually appealing book with complete information, despite it's relatively short length. I'm glad a new revised version was finally published.

We've owned and been showing shiba inus for fifteen years now, and can appriciate the quality of Payton's book. It's very well written and formated, up-to-date with this 2013 edition and comprehensive yet easy to use. If you're considering getting a shiba or already have one you should have a copy of this excellent book.

We got a rescue Shiba and needed a book to tell us all about the breed and this book is it. It has LOTS of great info and tips and really educated us on our new addition to the family. I would recommend this book to anyone new to the Shiba breed. Great pictures also!

Very informative, verified a lot of what I researched myself on the internet and also what I learned from breeders. Seems to be a good start book on a semi-obscure breed.

Ce livre explique bien ce qu'est le Shiba. Quasiment tous les aspects sont traités (comportement, caractère, standart, arrivée du chiot, activités, toilettage, ...). De plus, il est écrit dans un anglais très facile à lire (je pense qu'il y a quelques erreurs d'écriture, mais je ne connais pas suffisamment la langue pour en être certaine). À mes yeux, vraiment un très bon guide !!!

I’ve read a few different books on the breed but this one is by far the best. Unlike other books, it speaks directly to the breed for the vast majority of time, gives checklists to help new owners and provides advice and guidance on where to learn more. So glad I bought this!

Hier wird die Rasse Shiba inu wahrheitsgetreu beschrieben. Das beste Buch für eine alle, die sich überlegen einen Shiba anzuschaffen, oder die, die bereits einen haben.

Libro muy bueno y visual, con diferentes apartados en los cuales se explica muy bien la historia, los ragos, características, cuidados,... Además, contiene un apartado para orientarte/descubrir si el Shiba Inu es un perro óptimo para ti y una "shooping list" con todo lo que necesitarías adquirir antes de traerlo a casa.
