CAP Barbell Standard 1-Inch Threaded Curl Bar with Collars

Typical cap barbell. Works great and I love this bar for curls or even overhead work. Sturdy and feels like every other cap bar I’ve used.

I'd previously bought several sets of Yes4All dumbbells and plates, but I also wanted a longer bar for other exercises. I am pleased that this affordable CAP curl bar has checked off the boxes for all my home-gym lifting needs. It's well-made, strong, and durable. The screw sections at each end of the bar are long enough to add on five or more plates to each side. Both of those sections has a rubber washer that allows the plates to seat securely; so do the screw-on collars. This allows the plates to be tightened without wobbling. (I add a couple extra screw-on collars to each end, just in case.) The curves on the bar allow me to grip it for both close and wide curls, as well as tricep extensions. I also use the bar for bench presses, overhead presses, and bent-over rows, because it can take on more weight plates than my dumbbell bars. The combination of this CAP curl bar, the Yes4All dumbbells and weight plates, plus my Fitness Reality SuperMax Adjustable Weight Bench, gives me a high-quality, super-affordable home gym setup. I strongly recommend that anyone looking for resistance-based home exercise equipment check out this combo. For an investment of barely three hundred bucks, it has provided me maximum value and versatility.

Bar seems solid, well made, and exactly like the picture. Box was torn and one screw on collar was missing, but they responded by email next business day to my comment made via a form on their company web page, and a replacement collar arrived in the mail one week later.

The bar was what I expected, love the way it is shaped. Is exactly what I was looking for and server my purpose well!

The bar arrived well before they predicted and there was no damage during shipping. Nice and heavy and I doubt if it would bend if I threw it off a 5 story building. It will be a great addition to my workout equipment. I love the big curve in the middle of the bar for tricep workouts. Only small problem with the bar is that it came without the rubber bushings on the screw collars...no big deal since I can just run to the hardware store and buy them myself. Overall, a great buy and I would recommend it.

Can’t keep weights tight because thread on one the spin lock collar thread isn’t cut right. So out of the two colors only one is cut wrong. I wish I can contact the person selling it because all I need to do is replace one of the collars but there’s no way to get in touch so I’m going to have to send it back and just go with another manufacturer. If they would like to get back to me about the collar, I would definitely change this review because that’s all it needs is one spin lock collar. I guess they do not check item before sending. Maybe they just trying to get rid of the defective items I don’t know.

This is a decent, quality bar for doing curls, but there are some minor quality issues you might want to know about: - They do add rubber seals to the caps to ensure they stay in place and dampen sound a bit as they are being used. Yet, they are poorly made. One seal fell off after about 10 minutes of first-time usage and the other was poured a bit "too big", which makes it hard to attach / thread the cap to the curl bar itself. The caps should easily attach, but they don't like other weight sets that I've owned in the past.

Grip position on a curl bar makes a big difference in which muscles are targeted. This Super EZ Curl Bar has an inside grip with sharp 45 degree angles to work your outer (long) biceps with minimal wrist strain. The collars included have rubber washers that hold the plates firmly (even if they slipped a little and I had to retighten them, that's not a big deal). And this is a one-piece bar which is more durable than two-piece bars that connect in the middle. This super curl bar will replace my old standard curl bar. Both my old and new bars are shown alongside each other for comparison in the attached photo (my old bar is shown on top with weight plates on it).
