Good after some initial issues...
The day I received this unit I put about a quart of fuel in it and ran it through it's paces to make sure the it was fully functional. I bought this for use as backup power in case of power outages so I had no idea when I would actually need to use the unit again, but I assumed it would probably be after the Amazon 30 day return window had closed, so I went ahead and discarded the packaging. This past weekend my power went out. I completely filled the fuel tank and it was immediately apparent that something was wrong. The smell of fuel was extremely strong. I removed the side cover and found fuel dripping off the bottom of the tank and down into the generator. The sump portion of the fuel tank is welded onto the bottom of the main tank. That weld looked like it had been done by someone that had never touched a welder before. It had huge blobs and thin spots. Fuel was leaking from the welded seam.Since I had thrown the packaging away, shipping a 70 pound generator back to Amazon was going to be pretty difficult, so I just figured I'd just get a local service center to repair/replace the leaky tank under warranty. I went to the Energizer website to find a local service center and found only one near me. Next closest one is in GA and 75 miles away. The one near me has a number of very negative (one star) reviews, but they are the only game in my town so I called them. When I asked them to confirm that they were an Energizer brand authorized service center, he responded with "who?" I said "Energizer. Their website says you are an authorized service center". This was met with "OK". Didn't exactly instill me with confidence. He also said he was running about 3 weeks behind.I decided to call Energizer to see if I had any other options. I selected the option to speak to someone in tech support and got transferred to the voice mail of someone named "Ryan" that said he was out of the office until 11/24 and I should leave a message. Assuming that there was really no way their tech support could truly be completely offline while this one individual was out of the office, I tried a few more times. Always get Ryan's VM. So apparently tech support for Energizer brand generators does not currently exist. Until Ryan gets back.So I finally decided I would just BUY a new tank from their parts website and fix the damn thing myself. But no. The button on the website to buy parts for this model just says "Parts Available Soon" and does nothing when you click it.So now I have a 70lb $550 door stop. My options appear to be: Take it to the local shop that MIGHT actually be authorized to do warranty work, and MIGHT actually be able to fix it and will probably take a month to do so, or drive 1.5 hours to the next closest dealer in the next state over (GA), or just take the tank to someone that can re-weld the faulty weld, which I'm sure will void the warranty.Bottom line: BEFORE you buy this, make sure there is a reputable service center near you AND if you do buy it, put a FULL tank of gas in it and thoroughly inspect it for leaks before you discard the shipping materials.UPDATE: Once again, Amazon comes through. They are cross-shipping me a new unit. This way I can ship the defective unit back using the packaging from the replacement unit.UPDATE: 8/30/16. After almost year of use I'm very satisfied this unit. I've had zero problems with it. The first one I got must have just been a manufacturing fluke as the second one has been problem-free. Midland Power customer service eventually reached out to me and was very apologetic about the experience I had with the first unit and with support. I still have some concerns about my local service options, but the unit seems to be pretty well built and reliable so hopefully that's really a non-issue. Also, parts for this unit are now available from their website if I choose to do my own repairs once the warranty expires. Raising my review to 4 stars.

The bad: Arrived with both circuit breakers broken
This is for the 2800.The bad: Arrived with both circuit breakers broken. Cheap to replace but still annoying. I noticed others have had similar issues.Strapping the unit down in the box would prevent this..Two fuel leaks were also corrected. You need to open this thing up and eyeball it good before and after running it for an hour. Next, it ran fine until I accidentally overload it. It recovered OK but the event blew out the control board in my transfer switch. Had to buy a new switch for $80. Grrrr. The good. Will run my RV AC but it must not be on ECO mode (ECO can be set on after AC starts) and the AC must be turned on in steps (fan first). Seems to run well and is quiet. Starts right up when choked and the auto throttle works well. Wish it had an automatic choke and remote start though. Buy the 3200 if you want those.Edit: updated to four stars due to excellent customer service. Ryan from Midland actually called me and did all he could to make things right. This level of support is much appreciated and enough to make me buy from the company again.Edit: After a few weeks the unit now is shutting off randomly due to a false low oil signal. It runs OK with the oil sensor disconnected. Will try and get a new sensor from Midland.Update: Midland (Ryan) actually called me and is sending a new oil sensor. Once again, great customer service on his part. Upgrading to 5 stars based on that.

So Far So Good
The media could not be loaded. I have looked everywhere for a review on this generator with no luck. I went ahead with the purchase due to the great price from amazon on this unit. The unit came packed very well with no damage from shipping. Took out of box, added the oil turned on the gas, turned the choke to the closed position and she fired up in two pulls. I tested it with a heat gun and the generator powered it with out any issues even with the eco idle on. I am going out dry camping this weekend to put it to the test. I will update the review with how the unit functioned when I return on Monday. I have included a short video so you can hear how quiet this unit is.Update: 04/05/2015 Ok I ran the generator for about 20 hours this weekend and it never skipped a beat. Easy to start both hot and cold and runs very quiet. I would definitely recommend this generator to anyone looking for something inexpensive and quiet.Update 04/05/2016 Generator is still running strong ! I have around 100 hours on this gem and it still starts right up with no issues.Update 08/02/2016 Still running strong no issues at all.

The good outweighs the bad.
After about a month of use, I find there are things I like and things I don't like about this generator.First~~the likes: Electric Start; relatively quiet; Does handle my 13.5K RV air conditioner without any problem; 30 amp RV outlet; relatively light weight for its output; responds very well to change in load. The dislikes: Difficult to fuel (you had better use a funnel, because if you overfill it, the fuel runs down into the machine). It fouled a spark plug the second time it was run~~no problems since (changing a spark plug is a major project).Body panels don't fit too good.No possible way to secure it by cable to prevent theft. I believe all generators should have a solid point to attach a cable lock.Like most inverter generators, you have to pull a panel off to check oil, yet it states it should be checked every time you run it.The handles on this machine suck. No way to get a good grip on them.All-in-all, I believe the good outweighs the bad and I would recommend it to friends.
