Bummer - it WAS indeed too good to be true. :(
I was so excited to get this camera! I wasn't expecting a ton from it. I do reaction videos on YouTube and was looking for a way to record my reactions with better sound quality & so I could have an easier way to transfer vids to my laptop (my current process is stupidly ridiculous). I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 cell, which is what I've been using to record my vids. I didn't think this video camera would give me better picture/video quality, but hoped it would be at least on par with what I get from my cell phone. I DID hope for better audio as they say the mic has good noise reduction qualities. My hopes was: 1) easier way to store/transfer my videos, 2) video quality on par with my cell, 3) get better sound quality.Whelp. 1/3peeps. :-/1) It is very easy to delete stuff off the camera itself (once you can find where it all is) and to transfer pics/videos from video camera to laptop (just connect them, that's it).2) Picture/Vid Quality - The quality of the pictures and video it took were crummy...reminded me of my old webcam quality from my laptop in the early 2000's. And I did try all the different settings (and variety of setting combos) available on the camera. Also, it is VERY hard to tell what the final product will look like, because what you see on the video camera's screen isn't accurate at all (e.g., I was playing around with different settings and recording so I could find the best for my needs...the one that looked the best on the screen ended up being NOTHING like what it looked like on my laptop...that's important).3) Sound Quality - In terms of sound quality, the external microphone made things either totally muffled so could barely hear, or really tinny sounding. I was also bummed to find that I couldn't recharge the external microphone because I can SWEAR that I read that in the description on here somewhere (and of course I can't find it now) - it comes with one of those disc type batteries, no way to recharge anything (not awful or anything to replace a battery, but again, I thought I'd be able to recharge it). Speaking of batteries...the 2 big batteries you get with it really aren't great. It's also extremely awkward that the external mic connects to the space on inside panel...so if you were to use as webcam (when in webcam mode you can't see anything except webcam icon on the video camera's screen) you have to keep the screen open because you can't physically close it with the external mic plugged in...it's just clumsy, especially since I know the port is in a different spot on the cheaper model of this camera.I was getting sad and frustrated with this...what made me decide to actually RETURN this item was the following: 1) the battery was nearly dead after maybe 45mins...and that was just the camera being on...not recording or taking pictures that whole time. Yes, you can recharge it before/after use and it does recharge rather quickly. And, yes, you can charge it while you are recording...BUT, because of how/where I do my set up, that's not an option for me & I didn't want to have to worry about battery running down while I'm recording (which was one of the reasons I opted for this Actinow as compared to the less expensive one with smaller batteries).2) I connected it to my laptop to test out the webcam capabilities...during my 2nd attempt the camera froze (which ended up causing the system in my laptop that it was linked to to freeze too, and then i have to completely restart my laptop...I will say, my laptop is old, but still, this shouldn't have happened). I disconnected everything but camera didn't respond & I couldn't turn it off (I had to actually remove the battery to get it to work again). Pretty crummy to happen right off the bat when you're trying out your brand new camera!3) Manuals (1 for vid camera, 1 for external mic) are useless. Just useless. If you are someone like me (not tech savvy) it really is trial by fire and guessing. And I did finally figure out how to access everything, but it was really me just pushing buttons until I found everything and basically made my own manual.4) Another reason I got this camera was because it had the remote...but the remote really isn't so great. It took a while for it to even start working for me and even then I had to be pretty close to the camera and aim it just the right way.SUCH a disappointment. I really didn't have super high hopes for this either...truly. I knew it was an under $100 camera so wasn't gonna be amazing. Just was hoping for decent picture quality (on par with what my cell does) & decent audio, especially given it has an external mic! Nope nope nope. Truly bummed. And extremely frustrated. :( Returning it.

A camcorder that has many of the features of the more expensive brands
The media could not be loaded. What I like most about this camcorder is that the pictures and videos are clear and a high quality. I did set both to the highest quality in the settings. I also very much like that both the camera setting and the picture and video settings have so may options to choose from. The settings available are the same as much more expensive camcorders. You are provided with two batteries so that you can switch them if you run low on power. In addition, a remote control, a USB cable for charging, a case, and an external microphone are included. The remote control works quite well and would come in handy if you put the camcorder on a tripod and want to control the camcorder remotely. As for the features, the camera turns on when you open the display. At this point, you can take a picture by pressing Photo on the top of the camcorder or press the record button on the back to take a video. Camera setup settings can be modified by pressing the mode button twice. Here you can modify language, date, power save options. beeping sounds, video frequency, output for TV, TV output (NTSC or PAL), Format to format the SD card, or resetting to default settings. One feature that I particularly like is that you can pause recording of a video and then start it again. By doing this, the segments of the video will be recorded in one file so you don't have to use software to join them. With the MODE setting on the left side of the camcorder, you can set resolution of pictures, the movie size (from HD to VGA), single or continuous shooting for pictures, a timer, exposure, white balance, quality of pictures, sharpness, effects, ISO, hand shake, face detect, and smile capture. As you can see, there are quite a few settings to choose from. For the most part, I have used the highest settings for both photos and video. Although I wouldn't recommend this camcorder for professional use as mentioned on the product page, it is an excellent choice for the amateur or occasional user. It does include so many of the options provided by the much more expensive camcorders. The only downside that I found was that the date and time entered in setup is not retained once the the camcorder is shut off. This date and time stamp may or may not be shown on photos and videos as selected, but it also shows on the file information stored with each file which shows the time and date each file was created. Personally, I use this stored information to know when photos and videos were taken. If you use this information, you need to enter the time and date each time you turn on the camcorder. It should also be noted that when viewing videos on your computer, the video and audio are not in sync in some programs since the codecs for these programs are not compatible with the codecs of the videos recorded with this camcorder. In addition to product pictures, I have included a couple of photos and a video taken by this camcorder in low light conditions. I thought these photos and the video were excellent. If you do need more lighting for photos, you can turn on a a built-in LED fill light in the front by short pressing the power button.i hope this review was helpful for you and will update my review if my opinion changes.

Super camera with amazing price
I had this camera to my niece who loves to record the world by her perspective. For my part, it's just a gift. But after a few months of use, she called me to specifically thank me and invited me to see the videos she did with it. I was pleasantly surprised ...All on board, the image of this camera has impressive quality. Maybe we used to use the phones to make photos and videos, and we completely forgot what beautiful images we can do with a real camera. A real quality of 4K unless $ 100, this camera has great value unbeatable.Secondly, a device with Wifi facilitates us to control and download photos and videos. And it's easy to use, even for kids.Third, the camera came with a microphone that makes the videos more professional. My niece also used it as a tool to make videos in Youtube. Seriously, they really are like professional videos. In addition, this camera is so small and easily transportable, even with two batteries. It is compact with high resolution, light and strong and holds well in the hand. My niece brings her wherever she goes.So far, it's been pretty good, amazing for the quality and the price. I recommend this one for everyone who wants a budged camera.
