Great buy for the price
Let me preface this by saying i've never owned a PS3 or bluray player of any kind. Best i have is an original XBOX 360 (no HDMI). So this system is by far and away the best i've ever owned.PROS:-The doorbuster price. At $199 it couldn't be beat. I understand it's more now, but it's probably still worth it. Sony will support the PS3 until 2015, so you can still get games for years to come. And beyond that, it will still function as a media player.-The games (Infamous 1 and 2, Borderlands 1 and 2) are great games. I'm part way through Infamous now, and it's a blast. Having those come with the system is a major plus. It sucks buying a system for $300 and not having any games.-The playstation media center is very smooth and intuitive. I was impressed the layout and speed of the system. One thing i always hated about the 360 was difference in system menus in game vs. out of game. You had to learn two different menus. With the PS3, hit the middle button on the controller and you see the same menu you see when you start the system up (overlayed over your game).-Bluray quality is amazing.-Initial setup is a breeze. Connecting to WIFI is awesome (never had it before on a game system).CONS:-DOESN'T come with HDMI cord. Just comes with the R/W/Y analog connectors (not even R/G/B R/W, so you just get standard definition out of the box). Boo. Luckily i had an HDMI cord laying around. But if you don't, order one when you order this system.-Games don't come in normal cases. Just cardboard sleeves. The sleeves look nice enough, but i would have preferred a case.-Only one controller, but i'm ok with it.-Does not come with the PS3 stand shown on the picture.

Great Replacement
Found this price at $273.99 on Amazon. My original 40GB model broke earlier this year and this was perfect for replacing it. First off, I like the design of the slim model. The fact that the door for the disc drive slidesopen with the touch of a button and has a physical lock system is great. Electronic buttons and disc drives scare me for going out. 250GB hard drive is plenty of space. There was a free month subscription to Playstation Plus. That service is just incredible when you are looking to get games at a really low price. As for the games, I had always wanted to play through the Uncharted and Infamous series and now I can. I also wanted to play The Last Of Us and I am doing that at this time as well. Incredible game that all PS3 owners should have. My XBOX 360 was just not getting the job done after 2 years of owning it. PS3 has way better exclusives and the Playstation Plus offers a ton of great games and options for a really low price. Get a Gamefly subscription to fill in the gaps and you are set. Needless to say, this console is giving me all I wanted and then some. Can't wait to see what the PS4 has to offer.

Best deal I've got so far
For many hours I continued to search on a good deal for an Xbox on BF this year and wasn't lucky to find the bundle for 199 that came with a couple of games and kinect. After the frustration of seeing all deals were gone and stores were out of it I found this amazon deal here which I did not hesitate to buy immediately... got here in about 3 days as promised. The only semi-con about it was the packaging of the free 4 games was very weak..... kind of the one they used back in the day for the demos on ps1. Other than that great product, awesome price and good games.

I don't like this one I bought at all
Oh we'll I have returned this back to Amazon and the agent I spoke to was courteous and very helpful. The only game I own is the wii and even that I haven't touched in the last 6mths. This ps noise was so loud and the controller unresponsive I had to google the noise level if it is considered normal. No it wasn't. I needed it for the Bluray and to engage my son,s finger dexterity by encouraging him to play some games with the controller, then buy the move.My enthusiasm to get another ps3 has been tempered, now I'm not so interested in owning one anymore..I was hoping it can awaken some latent interest to gaming if i Own one, so when I saw the price@ less than $200-I thought "this is it" only to have my bubbles busted in the first 10 hrs of possessing it...and it did not come with any games as advertised. This baby was going on like 2 competing7 yrs old Hoover vacuum cleaner. But I guess this particular ps3 is the anomaly not all.

Buyer Beware: Possibly defective
I purchased this PS3 bundle from Amazon in December. I missed the Black Friday deal, and so when I saw the bundle for $200 again, I jumped at the offer. In the past, I have owned two different PS3 slim model capacities. Both had excellent craftsmanship and lasted a long long time before I eventually sold them. I was excited to get back into gaming with this newer model, but was severely disappointed when the system bricked within <15 system plays. Here is the timeline:December 3rd: Unit arrived. Worked great. Played on about 5 different occasions. No problems. Took a break from 10th - 22nd~December 22nd: Noticed that the system would sometimes attempt to turn on, run for a brief period of time (~5 seconds), then turn off. Sometimes, the system would boot and make it to the start menu. Once it did, system stayed on. Played on several different occasions. Took a break until January.January 6th: Returned to the system. Console is completely bricked. Press the red light, system attempts to turn on, runs for 5 seconds, and then turns off. Try this 30 times, nothing changes. On, then off. On, then off. On, then off.So there you have it. I realize that this very well could have been a hardware fluke, but I don't tend to give defective hardware a second chance. I cannot in good conscious recommend the new PS3 model to anyone. If I ever do return to the PS3, I will be picking up an older slim.
