Ilium Works Sidestand Footplate Enlarger compatible with BMW K1600GT K1600GTL IW-26-100

I like this item for what it's supposed to do, but it loses a star for the unintended consequence of its use. The product is made with precision and looks good and the larger sidestand foot is very helpful when traveling and does a lot to stabilize my motorcycle on sketchy terrain. However, the K1600 GTL has a sidestand that is almost too long already. That said, the extra little bit of length that this product adds makes me really have to think about where I park, as the slightest grade past level puts the bike up so straight that I am sometimes afraid it will fall the other direction. Plus, the extra foot size and length sometimes make the sidestand a bit hard to put all the way down because it catches on the ground before it's fully extended. Overall, I like the product for what it's supposed to do and understand that the bad necessarily comes with the design. That doesn't mean I have to completely like the bad, though.

Easy to install and maintains the overall appearance of the stock stand. Appears to be well made and I expect that it will stand the test of time.

Very good and affordable idea to improve manufacturer, by installing enlarged sidestand end-piece for better stabilization of the leaned/parked bike.

Easy, bolt-on installation; give you a much bigger footprint for stability of the bike especially on soft ground or gravel.

The kickstand the comes on the bike is pretty small at the base. This provides a much more stable kickstand.
