So good!
I don't know what the bad reviews are talking about. I thought the flavor was great for a gluten and dairy free cake, and it turned into proper cake just fine. If the consistency/texture is off, then maybe you used too much water or didn't cook it long enough (the instructions need to be tweaked depending on your microwave wattage. It was perfectly cooked as soon as the smell of it filled the kitchen- just like when cooking stuff in the oven.People are complaining about the price, too. I'm sure the price has changed over time so for some it was a legitimate complaint, but right now it's just over $3. That's less than a dollar per cake portion.Considering all the extra steps I would need to take in order to 1) store a large amount of cheaper GF/DF cake mix 2) add something else to bring in the egg element (like maybe a GF/DF angel food cake mix) and 3) figure out all the proportions of everything and experiment to get it right... I think this is a great price. I'm AuDHD and have a lot of executive dysfunction around food prep. This is very accessible to me and well worth the price.

Good quick breakfast or snack!
These are very good and easy to make. They're terrible to clean out of your mug though btw. Reasonable price for what is is.

Great flavor, texture a little off
These gluten free mug cakes are pretty dang good. I have the cinnamon flavor. The flavor is spot on and doesn't take artificially sweet. The only negative I would say is the texture....as it's a little mushy. I have found that if you follow the directions exactly, it helps. Let the mug rest IN the microwave after cooking for two minutes. That combats some of the mushiness. Either way, the cake is still a very good gluten free option and great to have on hand.

This is pretty tasty!
I was pleasantly surprised at the taste and texture of these. I did add a little bit more lactaid milk, and it was just fine. I also added a pat of butter and a bit of Cinnamon. As a celiac, I can go a long time without desserts, all while watching the family eat their regular treats around me. I finally had a craving and didn't feel like baking a gluten free dessert. I hate gluten free bread, so I was worried that this would be nasty. It's not, and I'll order again. I only took a star off because it's really, really sweet. That's just my opinion because the next person might feel like it needs more.Update: I'm not sure if it's the sweetener, or what, but I've eaten these and each time I had a stomachache. The first time i thought it was menstrual cramps, the next time, that wasn't an issue. Is it fiber? I don't know... so if you have a sensitive stomach, these might not be for you either. If you want something that will have you regular, this IS it.

Tastier than expected
I didn't expect much from a gluten free microwave cake, but it was yummy. A bit on the drier side, since there is no frosting or toppings like some of the other microwave cake brands offer, but it was pretty tasty. A fluffy cake with a nice cinnamon cake taste. A bit more expensive than the other brands but also a bit healthier. We made a little syrup topping to give it some moisture and it was very good.

Bleh to cinnamon. Chocolate is good.
I like the chocolate flavor. It's just big enough to satisfy a chocolate cake craving quickly. I decided to try the cinnamon on a whim. I use whole milk to make both flavors. I microwaved it for the instructed time and it was VERY raw still. Ok, put in for another 30 seconds. Still raw and yucky. I wondered if my microwave was working so I tried a chocolate one and it came out fine first round. I kept putting the cinnamon back in over and over in the microwave. This photo is at the 3 minutes of microwaving mark and you can see the center of the spoonful is STILL raw and the edges in the cup are raw as well. Taste wise, it was like I was being fed by a mama bird who chewed up the food and put it in my mouth. The texture was gummy and sticky. The taste was vaguely cinnamon but the base flavor was bleh. It tasted the way gluten free products tasted 20 years ago. I expected better from Udi.Oh and the box came crushed with packets all over the Amazon box but that's Amazon's fault (so no stars off for that) for shipping heavy 5qts of car oil along with small fragile boxes inside an oversized brown box. All the Glutino crackers I bought with that 3 pack of car oils also came as dust and Amazon doesn't care about damaging food products (or shipping not safe to consume things with food) since food items can't be returned. So now I'm stuck with $50 worth of Glutino crackers crumbs. Guess I'll use them instead of breadcrumbs. Not sure what I'll do with the other packs of the cinnamon. When I described the taste to my celiac friend, he said he didn't want to go through that gross mess and I don't blame him. Udi's missed the mark on this flavor, they must have skipped the testing phase. If this was the best version I hate to think what the other versions of the cinnamon flavor tasted like.Oh and btw, unless that's an espresso cup in the photo, that's at least twice the size of cake you're going to get in ANY of the flavors. I usually put it in my microwavable tea cup and it only comes about 1.5 inches up the side. The tea cup is narrower than the coffee mugs - those only come up an inch at most. It's really only about 3 bites of cake. So the package is very deceptive.
