Dynalite Baja B4 Battery-Powered Monolight, 2.4GHz Power Control Wireless Receiver, 5500 K +/-200 Color Temperature, Up to 550 Full-Power Flashes

I have used these Baja B4's on two jobs thus far. I have a few gripes as well as great praise. These monolights are fantastic for location work. I did notice that Dynalight made these to be indoor monolights. (made me disappointed) as I like to do outdoor location work. But the batteries are Li-Ion which, I believe are not heat friendly. Hence the "indoor" recommendation. The radio receivers that come with them are very good. I did have to buy the Dynalite BRT-616 transceiver to use this ecosystem. (You are still free to use your own preferred 3rd party radio transceiver and receiver)These monolights fit vertically with a little more padding in the Adorama Flashpoint CS600 case. Plenty of space in the center for accessories. The modeling lamp is severely anemic. I do not believe they are using Cree LED's for this (very bright LED's) so you will need an external LED light for your set. My main gripes are: 1.) Weak LED modeling lamp. 2.) No Hotshoe on top handle for 3rd party radio receivers or external LED for modeling light. 3.) Umbrella post insert is not thru and thru. It stops at a certain point. I am thinking it is not good with 72" Parabolic Umbrella's. But I haven't tested that yet. Otherwise it is fine with most umbrellas.
