Q: What is the difference between the 400H and 400AH?

The 400H is the newer version of the 400AH. The bowl water adjustment on the 400H is integrated into a knob in at the top of the flush valve. On the 400AH, a roller on the refill tube adjusts the bowl water level.

Q: Can i use this to replace a delta toilet fill valvepart RP71188?

The 400H-002 will replace the Delta model. The 400H can adjust to the same height and comes with an adjustable bowl refill knob to control the amount of water going to bowl. With this adjustment you should be able to match both bowl and tank water levels to the original levels.
