Love these books for my toddler. Learning to read is easy and fun.

I've used Bob Books for both of my kiddos and it is truly a staple in the reading world. If you have a beginner reader or struggling reader, these will not fail you. My two boys were totally opposite. One struggled which is why I began this journey and it helped boost his confidence as he leveled up through their structured reading sets. Starting my second son with the books began wonderfully and it didn't end bad at all. He is just super precocious so he began flying through the books. If you have a child like my second and you've purchased all the sets, make it fun. Do some comprehension activities and have him/her read to a relative as I did. We went deep into retelling based on illustrations which works just as well for your struggling readers. The illustrations are clear enough to aid each child as they sound out the words on the page. Each book includes a set of vocabulary words and really works you through proper reading channels.

Great to help early readers feel co confident. My son at 4 is able to read the books to his class. He loves seeing how many words were in the book.

My 4 year old granddaughter is enjoying these books since she can read them in her own. My only remark is that out of the set of 12 we missed the 3rd book and got two of the 2nd. So she’ll miss out on practicing the vowel in that book. Aside from that, I’m going to get the next set as well.

We bought these as extra practice to go along with Logic of English Foundations C. I think we could've used them in B as well, after we built some stamina. They are decodable and not too long. I appreciate that the characters often have made up names, so kids can't just guess at those. My 7yo enjoys the illustrations, too. So while the story is not always the most engaging (as most entry-level reader stories are not), we still enjoy these and read them on repeat every so often. I initially thought that Stage 2 was more advanced, but these are still "Kindergarten" level, according to the box. I'd say probably late kindergarten or early 1st grade. They do not have any words with long vowel sounds, besides the occasional sight word like "OK." If you are looking for long vowel (like "silent e") practice, you'll want to get a different set.

I was reading books to my 6yr old, but she never found any book to be interesting to read by herself. Some of them she found nice, but still struggled with words. With this set, she read all and has got some confidence. I recommend.
