Works great, but no instructions and no hold down screw
Recently installed this to run SSD boot and use the original HD as internal data drive in a 2012 27" iMac. Installation as others said is not bad if you follow various videos on net for iMac teardown, however, the special sized screw to hold down adapter is not included. Wound up using double faced tape. Also the connections to the cable pigtail provided are not obvious and no instructions included nor on vendor's website that I could find. E-mailed MicroSATA, but no response. Tried various configurations until found the correct setup and it works great. If vendor was helpful or complete in supply, would've been a 5 star.

Screw not included
This product DOES include a Sata cable and a power splitter cable to plug both your existing hard drive and your new drive, so no need to buy additional cable. It also comes with a small bag of 4 very tiny screws for who knows what. What it doesn't come with is the 1 screw needed to hold this board down when installed into the motherboard. So I would suggest finding the size and purchasing it before hand. They should really figure that out. I just used a little ball of double sided tape cause thats how I roll. The price was a little high but in fairness they are the only ones i've seen make this, but they should include one of the cheapest parts which is that simple screw. The pill would be alot easier to swallow if this truly had everything you needed to do this minus the SSD obviously.

Once installed works good and allow to install a SSD disk in parallel ...
You need to disassemble completely the iMac to fit this board, but on ifixit or youtube you can find step by step guides. Screen is the most difficult part, with the risk of damaging the glass.Once installed works good and allow to install a SSD disk in parallel with the original HD. It is possible to create a fusion HD, but both disk need will be erased. Personally I prefer to have 2 different disk and use the stardanr one to store data and the SSD for system and applications, the global speed is higher that a fusion disk.

Didn't work - iMac 2012 dead
With this installed the iMac 2012 would not boot. I tried it several times ... when installed it wouldn't boot, no power. When removed I could boot on the SSD from the other SATA port. 4 hours and 4 times spent assembling / disassembling an iMac down to the last board for no outcome, disappointing. The positive is you get pretty good at pulling apart your iMac ... I could do it in my sleep.

Advanced install, but not too bad if you have lots of space, the proper tools and take your time.
I wasn't able to get Mac OS High Sierra to install with the SSD drive installed in to this adapter. Mac OS would report install failures. One I moved the standard drive to the adapter and put the SSD in the factory SATA ports it installed fine and runs lightning fast. Haven't had any issues with the factory drive in stalled in to the adaptor at all. I did have to install some software to manage fan speeds, but not a big deal. Overall my computer is WAAAAAAAAY faster than before and I can't be happier.

It works kind of.. The SSD drive I used was ejected every now and then. Had to get it out in the end. So it works but only for a while.

Affordable SSD upgrade for 2012 iMacs
Worked great for upgrading my 2012 iMac 27". I was able to add an SSD along with the standard 3.5" HDD and created a Fusion drive from OS X.

Does not fit iMac late 2013 and later.
Be aware, This SATA blade for installing a second SSD does not fit Apple iMac late 2013 onward. It is mainly for 2012 iMacs.
