sensor is spotless now
For context - I am new to photography and interchangeable lenses. I recently discovered that my camera (Olympus OMD EM-1) had collected some dust on the sensor. I took pictures of the sky (F/22, long focal length, focus as short as possible, different lenses), as described elsewhere. I was able to see lots of dust spots (a couple of dozen) on the sensor. Some of them I could see even through the viewfinder and without enhancing the photo.Having never cleaned a sensor before, I was very nervous. The manufacturer suggests that users do not clean their own sensors. I finally gave it a try. I was extremely gentle and carefully followed directions from the internet. (I did add my own wrinkle - I used a tripod to hold the camera with the sensor pointing down and cleaned the sensor while lying on the floor facing up.) I was amazed at the results - I got all but one of the spots on the sensor (it is possible that this spot was on the lens). In a subsequent cleaning, I was unable to see any spots on the sensor whatsoever.I did look at the other reviews and was surprised that they were so negative. I did recognize the problem with the brush flying off the shaft. But when I put it back firmly, the brush would stay and did not come off.In addition there was a reviewer that mentioned that the device added some gunk to the sensor. I wonder if this is a case where his sensor had something liquid of smearable on it (the internet mentions oil from the shutter mechanism as an example). While I don't know for sure, I suspect that this is a case that is not handled well by the brush. I worried about this quite a bit (found a camera repair shop that would clean my sensor) but in the end it did not happen to me. I wonder if there is any way to detect this case before you start (by looking at pictures or by looking at the sensor when the camera is open).-Timothy

Dangerously Bad Design that Can Cause Injury, DO NOT BUY
The Artic Butterfly 724 has a fatal flaw which ensures your cleaner will break and fail. It is hard these days to design a product with 100% failure, but they have. The nonconductive ferrule shaft (it is white in the photos) is apparently made of a soft plastic that easily cracks. The shaft can develop hairline cracks where the brush will not stay securely attached to the DC motor shaft. The brush can then fly off and can lead to personal injury. Every one of these should be recalled until Visible Dust, the manufacturers of the Artic Butterfly, can redesign the brush and attachment point to make sure the the brush cannot fly off.The attached photos show a brand new 724 with the brush that arrived today (12/31/16) from Amazon that failed on first use. I was fortunate, the brush only hit me in the leg and did not hit me in the eye. I was not wearing eye protection. Nothing in the instructions suggests that eye protection is required during use.

Does the job, but not quality made
I was surprised that for the price tag, the quality of the product seems low.Yes it does the job, but for the expense, I was completely expecting a top-notch item. To me, it rings of mass-produced, factory-made, cheapo toys that you might find in a bin of a streetside store in some Chinatown.BUT, it does the job, and does it decently.Wish the price reflected the quality and not the lacking availability of competitors.

Useful But Overpriced
This product does what it says, however at the price point one would expect a more well constructed final product. It feels cheap and flimsy so handle with care. If it was half the price one could overlook the cheap materials used to make this product, but if that is a deal breaker for you avoid buying this. However if you *really* need a product that will do a good job of cleaning your camera sensor and can bare with the fact that is overpriced then make the purchase because it works.

bummed, sent the first one back for the brush ...
bummed, sent the first one back for the brush rod cracked. The next one won't stay one the device, it keeps flying off every time i turn it on. Not worth the money and time to have two of them not work now.

It performed as I expected. The camera was clean as a whistle after cleaning it with the device. The brush did flow off once in a while spinning it outside the camera, but I had expected it from the reviews I had read before I purchased it. So, it wasn't a surprise.

If you have a great lens and camera
If you have a great lens and camera. You need one of these to get the dust "bunnies" off your pictures. It is easy to use. It is expensive, butif you have it done professionally, you will soon pay for it and you can do it yourself. If you see "smudges" or small dust on pictures, you need oneof these.

Not worth the money
I had high hopes for this tool, but it was a big disappointment. Turned it on and it kept flying off, put it back on and same thing, and it was on just for a few seconds. I'm going to return it. My best success so far, is using the Digital Survival Kit - Sensor Swab w/ Eclipse Cleaner, Lenspen loupe & Lenspen and Giottos AA1900 Rocket Air Blaster Large. After blowing the dust out & cleaning with the swab, I put the loupe on and check my work and swab again, if it needs it or use the Lenspen to pick up the little particles of dust left behind. I love the loupe, it's saving me from using up too many swabs per cleaning. And the final test is to take a pic at f22 of a white background and look at my image, if there is a spot of two of dust still there, I put the loupe back on go to the location of the spots on the picture and remove them with the pen and I' m done.

Fantastic tool! I get rid of my sensor dust ...
Fantastic tool! I get rid of my sensor dust in 5min and it was accumulated for half and a year on my Sony Alpha 7RII sensor. Easy to use, pricey but it really works! I am delighted :)

Artic 724
Good product in principle: The brush is soft and efficient for cleaning sensors. Dust is eliminated from the brush when the electric motor of the handle moves it.Unfortunately, quality problem: after some uses the plastic tip of the brush cracks and becomes larger and the brush constantly escape from the motor.Spare brushes are relatively expensive.

Excellent Product
Excellent product. My local camera repair shop charges £70 to clean my sensor of dust spots. After two sensor cleans I decided to do some research and this dry cleaning solution looked the safest option. I had a small dust spot showing up on my photos for several months and using a blower brush would not budge it. A gentle brush from the Arctic Butterfly removed the dust spot immediately. I haven't found the light to be any use as it's impossible to see small dust specks even with the light due to reflections from the sensor. Very effective dust removal which will pay for itself within two uses.

completamente insoddisfatto
