So far it is not a good experience. USB power & problems reading Blu-Ray
I will update this after further testing and any improvement.Spent several hours troubleshooting so far.USB power, means that some laptops have trouble supplying enough power. With my 2 year old Toshiba Laptop Win7 it just cycles in & out of being recognized as indicated by the system ding sound. (Much like any USB or Firewire device when it is first recognized or detached.)On my desktops Win7 64bit, the supplied older CyberLink PowerDVD v.10 software generally locks up the system.I have modified the free VLC Player to work with Blu-Ray, and it works partially. The drive seems to freeze & buffer over and over at times. In simply copying Blu-Ray file data, it hangs up (perhaps encryption instead of poor reading ability). The actual drive is a Pioneer BDR-TD03, first produced several years ago. It was packaged in numerous housings, like the Memorex Slim 6X Bly-Ray Burner that I just bought in Oct of 2012. Hopefully things have improved over the years.

great compact burner
this memorex bluray burner functions very well. its a little slower than a convcential dvd burner, its only 4x compared to a dvd at 40-80x.it requires 2 usb2 ports. the power dvd software needs a payed update to play blurays on your pc. and you must have the correct hd graphics card and drivers on your pc. i dont use it to play blurays just to burn them so it didnt bother me. all in all if you need a bluray burner i would recomend this one, if you want a player i would not.

Works great - an exceptional buy!
I have an older Intel I5 desktop. I plugged this in, ran the software to install the driver was ready to go! I burned one 25gb and seven DL 50gb rewritable blu-ray disks with zero problems. Max speed is 2x burn, but with zero errors this was an exceptional value.

Junk. nightmare. useless. money sucking machine.
I have had this burner for Blu-rays for over 3 years now. Took me this long to finally realize what I should have long ago. This thing is Junk. I wish I could tell my former self to keep looking. I have purchased every piece of software I came across to burn a BDR. Thought it was a software problem. Then I purchased a bunch of different brand BDR thinking it was a disc problem. The thing doesn't work. For every disc I burn it may fail 10 discs. Or it may burn 4 in a row. Lets put it this way. In 3 years I have probably purchased 300 discs. Possibly more. How many did it burn? About 60. I have added a pic of todays pile of failed discs. Today was the last day to try to get it to work.

Gets the job done
There are not a lot of bells and whistles with this Blu-ray drive, but it does work (contrary to some other reviews).

As promised
Works as promised. Really like the small size and that it is powered by the laptop; no additional plugs.

Simply Dreadful
Straight out of the box it was a disaster. No disc would work in it. A complete waste of time.
