It works. It does what is needed.
A friend needed to record a conversation, and this worked for him.Note that you may need a "3.5mm male to male" cable in order to connect this device to a recorder -- or smartphone.

Disappointing but You Get What You Pay For.
Like so many of these things, you get what you pay for. This has no filtering, so it has a hum in it and ruins recordings, unless you like hum. Spend more money and buy a "hum buck" recording adapter.

telephone has echo
when the device is connected this seems to be a echo on the telephone line. disconnect the unit the echo goes away...
