Not sure why they say you need to remove the deck on the riding mower. On my Yard Machines / MTD you just lower the deck to its lowest position. I also had to remove the battery and battery holder from under the seat. That took less than 5 minutes. Idler pulley isn't the easiest to reach but you can reach it
