Oxbow Papaya Fruit Plus Tabs

I've been giving these to my rabbit for at least 4 years now. She absolutely loves these, and I think they make a big difference in her health. As you already know, rabbits have a cecum which is a part of the GI system that we (and most other mammals) do not have. They digest food very differently, and their nutritional needs are very different from ours. They also can suffer from GI imbalances that can quickly become fatal, and are somewhat prone to it by default.The ability for papaya and pineapple to aid digestion is well-known, and known to have positive effect on many different kinds of mammals. While not completely understood, it appears to have somewhat of a "regulating effect" on aspects such as gut motility, and I believe this is certainly true with rabbits.Since I have started feeding these to my rabbit, her entire GI system has more or less functioned better. In crude terms, her poop is really healthy and really consistent, which is a critical aspect for rabbits. I saw an improvement when I started these (also saw an improvement when I started feeding her Oxbow Bunny Basics), and others have noted the same thing. I also have to trust Oxbow would only produce this product if it worked really well, as they have about a strong of a track record in the field of rabbit nutrition than anyone.Overall, I think this is a great daily supplement for healthy rabbits to help keep them healthy. Combined with other aspects of good care, I think it can really improves a Bun's life.

I wasn't sure how my dwarf bunnies were going to react to this product, but I wanted something to help prevent wool block so I ordered them and I've been very happy with this product. At first my bunnies wouldn't eat one, but they can be like that with new offerings, so I just came back again the next day and offered again. My female took a bite out of hers, and my male wouldn't eat his again. Third time I offered it, I found that if I break them in half, my bunnies like that better and my female ate a whole half of one as soon as I offered it to her so I was happy, my male still wouldn't eat his but he showed some interest. So I just kept breaking them in half and offering them to my bunnies and about the fourth time I offered they immediately ate them up as soon as I offered them, very encouraging. Now it is my males FAVORITE treat, he will do a trick for these papaya tablets and now asks me for one all the time, it's very sweet too because he kind of leans forward off his level and almost falls off trying to dive for them. My female still eats hers too, they both love them, but funny enough my male really loves them. I even ate one and they are exactly pure papaya and pineapple tasting-not one taste of sugar or sweetness which made me really happy because sugar can hurt a rabbit. This is a great product and is worth the cost, I go through a bottle in about 2-3 months. I could just buy human papaya tablets for my cavies, but could not find one without sugar in it, so this is worth buying.

Oxbow has always been good about making sure to only put proper ingredients in their items. These tablets are to prevent hairballs. In a cat a hairball is something they hack up and its done... rabbits can't hack anything up. it's a one way trip for a rabbit to eat its own fur and having a furball removed from a rabbit can cost as much as a used car.So spend the 10 cents a tablet every few days and give them some assistance. Also groom them.... often...Plus... Rabbits LOVE these things and think they are treats.

This was recommended by our Vet (great, compassionate, A-Z Veterinarian, Midland Texas) and works wonderfully for our full bred male Dutch Bunny. He likes it very much and we cut it into quarters for his bedtime treat every night. He weighs 1.7 lbs and is a year old. We are much more assured this helps him digest fur. Now our other bunny, a female Dutch mix, weighing 2.3 lbs and also the same age, can't stand it. As an alternative we give her dried papaya pieces with no added sugar each night, as her treat, and she loves them. The male won't touch the real fruit pieces. Even though the dried real fruit is probably not as good as the supplement, she is receiving some help to aid breakdown of fur. Both bunnies are regular and seem to be doing well on a strict diet of oxbow bunny basics T-no alfalfa- and fresh Timothy hay, and plenty of oool water.

My vet recommended papaya tabs and Topper loved these. Then they were discontinued and now I see that they are produced by a company in Japan. Are they still Oxbow? They are too expensive for me. I will go back to Trader Joe's who sells a papaya/ pineapple tab. Five stars for the tabs, 1 star for the price and questionable manufacturer.

This product was delivered quickly & perfectly packaged. I was also happy to note the products expiration date was dated 2015 which fits my usage needs. I wish the Mfg. would again produce their 500 count bottle which was more cost effective & easier to store. Years ago, Oxbow DID produced a 500 count bottle. Sadly, I haven't seen that cost effective count size for many years. Oxbow: Please reconsider the 500 qty. size.

I bought this for him because he had tummy issues before and now he just can't get enough.. I started him on it slowly and he responded really well, it hasn't even been a week yet and he's already asking for more! I'm so glad he loves this, this serves as a great alternative to 'junk' treats. I definitely recommend buying this, it helps their system properly digest and also helps break down the balls of fur their stomachs accumulate from grooming. And best of all, it has tons of fiber! Which is what rabbits need in their everyday diet permanently.

All of my bunnies just loved these and did not have major problems with stasis while taking them. I wish Oxbow had not discontinued them. Someone from Oxbow told me they did not think that rabbits liked them. They love them. Our one bunny has problems with calcium sludge so I will not try Oxbow's papaya support because it has calcium in it.

This supplement saved my elderly bunnies life. He'd had gut problems for 4 weeks and I was just about to have him put to sleep. I had tried all the vet meds and nothing worked - then I tried these - within half an hour of 1 tablet he was moving around which he hadn't been for days after 4 weeks of these tablets he is a new rabbit, all the weight back on and no gut problems. These are absolutely brilliant. A god send - thank you.

Previously bought several times but there used to be 90 in a pot. What happened?One of my rabbits loves them, the other ignores them totally. Useful when moulting, and recently helped when he stopped producing pellets.Noticed the photo shows a dog collar?????

This stuff could be a life saver! It's expensive, but I feel that it really helped on couple of occasions when my buns started feeling unwell. Great supplement to give to bunnies when they shed a lot of fur. And of course they just love the taste of Papaya!!!!

My rabbits really love these!! They've only been having them a few days, but I'm hoping these tablets will stop all the 'GI Stasis' episodes, which have been frequent and some times last days...usually around times of malting. From the reviews I've read these should do the trick...wish I'd found them years ago.

My rabbits go nuts for these...and while they are both heavy shedding I am relying on these to keep them from getting hair problems. So far so good! Glad they like them as makes this much easier to administer! The run out of their box toward me as soon as they hear the jar rattle and jump up at me impatiently until i give them a tablet. Very amusing
