Solar Group RSKB000
We have had this model mailbox for almost 8 years and LOVED it. We actually mounted it horizontally with the bottom flush against our house. All we have to do each day is open our front door, open the mailbox door (which since we mounted it horizontally was now on the SIDE facing our front door) and get our mail. Since the polymer side (which would have been the top if it was mounted differently) faces the street, we placed our house number across the front of the polymer. It looks quite attractive from the street. We weren't interested in the locking feature, so we removed the locking plate which makes the opening for mail nice and large. The mailbox is large enough to hold multiple days worth of mail, large envelopes, and is big enough to accept small packages...all wonderful features. It is beautifully made and never rusted. So you ask, why did we replace it? Unfortunately a malicious prankster decided they didn't like the decision they received from a government agency and decided to BURN that piece of mail in our mailbox, which also ignited the rest of our mail. If it wasn't for the polymer front which warped from the intense heat of the fire, the box would have been perfectly fine. It is very sturdy indeed and kept the fire contained. After looking at many other models available, we knew we wanted to replace it with exactly the same model because of the above mentioned features which met our needs very well at a relatively reasonable price. When we went online to the manufacturer's website it listed Amazon as a supplier. So without having to leave the comfort of our home we ordered the replacement, which is now already mounted. If total security is what you want then look for the mailboxes that cost hundreds of dollars, but for everyday use this is a wonderful item

Easy
This is an easy to install locked mail box. The mailman likes this box . It is easy for him to put in mail and small packages. He does have to walk to my door for medium and larger packages. It has discouraged mail box thieves. I did add a drive way alarm so now I know every time someone opens the mail box door. I would buy this mail box again if needed. It is solid and has good construction.

Wonderful Mail Box
Great mail box. We love the very "out going mail" pull out tab and locking feature. There are a lot of holes in the bottom of the box to accomidate differrent mounting needs. Would have liked to see some kind of solution to seal up the un used holes so bugs dont get it

Good product overall
I had a more expensive locking mailbox. It was all metal, and had a "dump" mechanism to get the mail from the top mail chute to the bottom container. That one was very secure, but also quite a bit larger, and not nearly as "mailboxy" looking. It also got hit by a tractor, and although tough, it wasn't THAT tough!Replaced it with this mailbox for 2 reasons...1. This one is cheaper, and 2. This one looks more like a regular mailbox. Other reviewers have commented that this one is not as secure as more expensive and elaborate boxes. That is true. However, if you are just looking for something to discourage the less determined mail thief, this one is just fine, and looks nicer (in my opinion). Others say they can fit their arm into the mailbox from the chute, and maybe they can. But my arms are not that large, and it would be a fairly painful act, involving the loss of some skin for me to squeeze my arm through the chute. I doubt if most people would make the effort to either squeeze their arm through or to pop the lock, although both are certainly possible with some effort, I suppose. So, for me, whose security needs are fairly modest, this box works just fine. The neighborhood kids won't easily mess with my mail, prying neighbors can't just walk up and open the box, it takes a key to easily open it, and that's good enough.

Okay design, albeit a bit flimsy
So it says plastic mailbox, and that is true for the outer door and the roof. However, the inner door and bottom as well as the side walls are sheet metal. That should be sturdy, but the steel is thin and the door hinge rather flimsy. New out of the box, especially the inner door looks used or at least poorly handled, aside from the attachment not inspiring much confidence.See the picture for the bent rear wall and the screw was loose in the box. You can also see how thin the sheet metal is. (The door is thicker.) It may not have been used, but certainly looked like carelessly handles in production. Btw., the roof or top lid is held to the sheet metal body by 9 external screws (!), which is more trouble than most thieves will go thru. However, be advised that it would be possible to easily remove the lid with a screwdriver and replace it after unobstructed (and undetected) access to the mail. The inner door can be locked and two keys are included. The door has a relatively long overhang inside, which is theoretically to guard your mail from prying hands. However, that logic is a bit flawed as that would require that inserted mail ends up beneath it. It’s unfair to expect your mail person to perform such ricochet move to not only fully insert your mail, but also sort of to bounce from the rear wall back forward to land under the overhang. Realistically, the mail can end up on top of the door and is almost as easy to remove as if there was no door at all. (You can blame the mail person all day long for not paying extra attention, but it's more or less due to the design of door. The pickup flag slides out and there are certainly more attractive designs, but it's functional. The outgoing mail clip, however, is probably the most sturdy design of the whole box. The spring-loaded metal clip holds a few letters, but there is no room for smaller packages to store for pickup.Overall, it’s reasonably attractive and certainly more secure than not having a lockable door. That's a level of protection I am fine with for now. It won’t stand a malicious attack with anything more than bare hands, but it does prevent a quick grab. Frankly, the locks are simple anyway and vandals have often no problem just hitting the box with a baseball bat (or hammer) to sever it from the post. (Or in this case especially patient crooks could make the effort to remove 9 screws to take the lid off.) Hence, such box is unlikely to provide full protection anyway.

Good, but the door safety key make it hard to open to put large package.
Good quality, I didn't place on the yard yet.
