Heads up. I've never given a bad review for anything before this one. Never.
I was excited to order and get for this remote. I had heard it was awesome and I could't wait to use it. During my first talk using it I was only 15 feet away from my computer, and found out the hard way that if anything at all blocks the receiver from the transmitter, you're in trouble. I was giving the Keynote to a Fortune 25 company and it embarrassed the living you know what out of me. Every time I tried to change slides I had to keep clicking until the slide changed. I had to move all the way to the back of the stage. As it turned out, the HDMI cable was in front of the USB dongle the Keyspan uses. This is going to be one of those war stories I tell other speakers. It really did hurt the talk. After a while I had to stop completely and switch to the remote I had been using for a long time. I've never ever given anything at all a negative review. The only reason I'm giving one on the Keyspan PR-EZ1 is to warn others of my experience and to make sure they know what the glitch is.Still mortified,Scott Rouse

Issues with PowerPoint
*Edit (March 2013). I am having a big problem with this presenter where it randomly locks up during a PowerPoint presentation and won't operate. When it does this, even the arrow keys and escape keys do not work on the laptop itself (I'm using a mid-2012 MacBook Air). The only way to get out of the presenter view is to use the trackpad and click on "end show" button at the top. Presenter USB receiver then must be unplugged and reinserted for the presenter to resume working until the next random lockup. VERY disappointing as this has such potential to be a great presenter for me! The good news is, however, that the volume keys (one of the main reason I bought this) DO continue to work even when the other buttons lock up. So, at least I can still use this as a volume control remote. But now I have to resume using my Kensington SlimBlade Presenter Mouse AND this, which is obviously more cumbersome and inconvenient. Hopefully, this issue may be corrected with future Apple OS updates and/or PowerPoint updates. I have no idea what the root problem is. I may attempt to contact Tripp Lite to see if they have any idea.Original Review:I have been using a Kensington SlimBlade Presenter Mouse for about a year, and my satisfaction with it has quickly waned. I never really used the mouse function (though I suppose it is comforting to know it's possible) and the buttons often had to be forcibly pressed to advance a slide. I also really started to wish I had a presenter that could control volume, as I was sick of having to constantly move to my sound system's gain knob to adjust between the presentation, movie clips, and sound clips that all needed fine-tuning volume adjustments. The choice in presenters with volume control for some reason seems to be slim, so I was excited to find this one, the Keyspan by Tripp Lite PR-EZ1 Easy Presenter. And it has a presentation start button, end button, black screen, and laser pointer to boot!I am using this with a 2012 13" Macbook Air running OS X 10.8.2 and with PowerPoint 2011 for Mac. All functions work flawlessly, including the "F5" (start slideshow) button that some have reported not working. It is plug and play as advertised. You may get an "unrecognized keyboard" setup screen when you first plug the RF receiver in, but just cancel that out. This did not happen the subsequent times I plugged it in. The RF works as you'd expect, enabling you to have the presenter pointed in any direction and still function responsively.I am more than satisfied, especially considering the price. It also comes with a handy draw-string pouch with locking bead that easily fits both the presenter and RF receiver to keep them together when not in use. I give this product 5+ stars!

Best Presentation Remote I've Found
This is the best presentation remote I have found. I love the ability to control volume. It has all of the functions you need. Dim, forward, back. The laser pointer is a nice feature.I am disappointed that the F5 feature doesn't work on my computer and there is not an update for it. I emailed the company and they don't seem interested in creating one for the newest generation of Mac although the instructions said it would be compatible. But that's not a deal breaker. To get the maximum reach (60 feet as they claim) it seems you need to have a brand new battery. The take the round watch batteries. 2032 if memory serves.

Presentation Remote
While this does do what it's supposed to do, it certainly has limitations. If I had realized that it was only good when doing a presentation (e.g. PowerPoint), but didn't work to navigate any other functions of the computer, I would have paid a little more for the KeySpan PR-US2, which allows you to pretty much run everything on the computer. The best feature on the Easy Presenter is the buttons. As the name implies, they make running a presentation very easy, and even includes a "blackout" button to (useful to turn off the display during Q&A times). My remote had gotten out of sync, and it took me a while to realize that the RF control device that plugs into the USB port has a re-set button on it. At first I kept wondering why "both lights" didn't light up, until I realized that the other "light" was a re-sync button.Bottom line - it's okay, but I much prefer using the PR-US2.

The Perfect Gift for Any Presenter!
The Keyspan by Tripp Lite was recommended to me by @MichaelHyatt who uses this device for all of his presentations. This device works on a Mac or PC and works flawlessly. I love this device, because it sits comfortably in the palm of my hand. I can present with confidence while advancing my slides and knowing that everything will work smoothly. The laser point works well but can get lost if you are on a fairly large screen. Other than that, there is nothing bad about this device. I use this device for all of my presentations (when I have a choice) both personally and professionally. This product is fantastic for anyone who gives presentations. I highly recommend this device and have given them as gifts for speakers who I know.
