Street View: The New Nylon Book of Global Style

Xmas present for my teenage girl, who's interested in street photography. She loves it.

Yes, all the kids in here are probably painfully rich and spoiled, but it's still delightfully interesting. Just like the first Nylon fashion book, you'll find yourself wondering "how can a 23 year old be a DJ/model/photographer/artist/AND a fashion designer?!?!? Oh, I know...LYING!!" Hahaha. I mean "technically" if you take photos of things with your camera, sing in the shower or karaoke with your friends, play music at a house party, draw in your notepad on the train, vandalize the occasional bathroom wall, and sewed a patch on your blazer...then you're "officially" all these things. Always pretentious but never boring, these NYLON fashion photography books continue to show that young, beautiful kids can look "cool" in a friggin' potato sack. Yet, here I am, buying the book, giving a review, THEY WIN! lol. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's like the first book, only NEW pretentious faces. Viola! Thanks Nylon!

Everyone is wearing an H&M T-shirt and Cheap Monday skinny jeans with dirty sneakers/flats/boots. Now you don't have to buy the book.

Save your money because this is a load of crap that is so repititous and absoltuely fashionless, I have more fashion that this book together by so called professionals. People that want to learn about real fashion should not buy this book.

I was hesitant on purchasing this book due to the abundance of online blogs, but this book does a great job of curating photos with added commentary to give you a nice global view on street fashion. Book quality however is cheap and is printed in china (Smells weird too at first).

boring, boring, boring.... boring.. Instead of spending your money on pictures of skinny jean hipsters and random boring models without fashion sense, please, search through internet's street style blogs and -sites.Montreal, New York etc are boring... everyone wears the same: dark, gloomy colors, plaid, (bad) thrift shop, badly fitting skinny jeans or black tights. come on, how boring is that!! Ofc I found some gems here and there, but mostly all looks look the same.BUT I really liked the chapters of Tokyo and Stockholm. Kids in Tokyo can dress up, their style is fun, colorful but still easy and casual. Stockholmers are just simply cool.

Wer sich von diesem Buch Stylingratschläge erhofft, wird in jedem Fall enttäuscht sein. Wer aber nach Inspiration für den eigenen Stil sucht, wird in "Street View" mit Sicherheit fündig.Die verschiedenen Styles einiger Weltmetropolen wie New York, L.A., Tokyo oder London werden anhand schöner Farbfotos gezeigt und reflektiert. Die abgebildeten Person erklären jeweils, was sie an ihrer Stadt mögen und warum sie die Kleidung tragen, die sie gerade tragen.Jedoch fehlen meiner Meinung nach einige Städte wie Paris, Berlin oder vielleicht auch Mailand. Was dagegen Stockholm oder Montreal hier zu suchen haben, ist fraglich.Schön zum Durchblättern oder zum Lesen/Anschauen im Zug und durchaus inspirierend, aber teilweise etwas lückenhaft (Wo ist Paris?!). Deshalb drei Sterne.
