Excellent Big Case for Big Computing
I use my computer for scientific computing, software development and HD video editing. Since the 1980's I've been building my own PCs and this is the best case I have ever used. My last build was in 2002 and resulted in a PC that sounded like a jet engine despite my best efforts at sound damping. Because of that, for the last 10 years I have been buying pre-built PCs from Dell with *quiet* cooling. Last month my trusted Dell T3500 Precision Workstation was dying. Pre-built or build-to-order solutions did not fit my needs because of lack of options and/or long lead times so I built my own again.PROS1) excellent ventilation;2) moderate noise;3) excellent cable routing;4) enough space to comfortably work inside the case and to easily fit (2) high end graphics cards;5) easy access to both front and back of the motherboard6) easy access to the drives, especially HDs.7) no tools needed8) perfect fit for the Corsair H100 Liquid Cooler [..].9) PSU mounts at the bottom and forms a separate cooling channel from the rest of the case: it sucks in air from the bottom and exhausts it out the back. (The case has feet to create clearance and an easily cleanable filter. I would be cautious about placing this case on carpet...)10) Top-mounted hot-swap SATA 6Gbps hard drive mount. I've wired it but not tried it yet. This, and a grill rather than a window in the side, are the main differences between this case, the 650D, and the 600 '[...]CONS1) Front 240mm fan is a bit noisy and the form factor makes it hard to replace.2) You need to read and/or see how to use the flexible drive carriers correctly. They are flexible (not "flimsy") to allow tool-less work on the drives. Once understood, they are nice to work with.3) None of the case fans have the 4-pin Molex PWM connector for PWM speed control. This is a shame because if the motherboard supports PWM speed control (most do), it results in a much quieter computer. If the motherboard does not, the 4-pin connector is backwards compatible with the 3-pin motherboard headers.4) Case "window". I'm an electrical engineer and I would definitely prefer metal (or at least something conductive) instead of plastic to avoid the PC putting out interference to other devices and minimize the chance of other devices interfering with the PC operation. That said, my motherboard has POST LEDs that light red at the CPU, GPU, RAM, drive controller when one fails POST. This makes for quick diagnostics.5) This case is BIG, both in height and depth. It does not comfortably fit where my T3500 did.6) Case design recesses back-panel items (video, USB) making them harder to see and reach.7) Missing pieces that should be included. No case speaker[...]8) The fore-aft PSU retaining bracket is adjustable, but only to discrete locations. This was an imperfect fit for my fully modular OCZ 1000W PSU h[...] The other screws and bracket hold it in place well, but if I planned on moving the PC (game party) I'd make certain to grab a Corsair PSU as well. (You have to step up to the 1200W Corsair ht[...] with a $100 premium to get fully-modular cabling. With as many Cons listed, you might think the 5-star rating is a reach. Most of the Cons are minor, and I looked at a LOT of cases. This is the best that I could find and there is none I'd rather have. The resulting build looks great, is easy to work on, and the performance blows me away. Thus, 5 stars.

Classic, classy simplicity- but HD trays should be sturdier...
I had my build in the beautiful Sentey Arvina 6400 Black case, which I love. But, after I found myself sitting the case left side facing out on top of my computer table with the side panel off to view the inside components, lighting, etc, I decided that I wanted a case with a "windowed" side panel. I initially considered modding the Arvina's side panel, cutting a window in it, but decided that it's way too nice and has the design buildout for ventilation that I did not want to risk messing that up; which, knowing me, would be way too high a risk to take. I will move my eleven year old son's build into the Arvina, and keep his current AZZA Hurrcan 2000 case aside for the future. For my build I researched the "windowed" computer case market inside and out. I always came back to the Corsair cases because of the overall design, simple, classic "classy" exterior design, quality and cable management. Initially I struggled between the Graphite series "black" and new White versions...but, again, as beautiful as those cases are (the white version with a mesh side or window option), I opted for the white, but then became concerned with the white not really fitting in very well with the interior colors/set up of my home office. However, I have a feeling that one day I will have that Corsair white case sitting there...?Finally, Corsair took the enviable but huge Obsidian 800 D to mid size... alas, the 650 D appeared on the market and I was awed with the elegant black mid-tower case with a nice, well though out window size and placement that does not show the hard drive cages! I thought that for what you get, the Corsair quality, the price was reasonable as well, with other higher end windowed cases by Silverstone, Sentey, Lian Li, and others ranging at least $50.00 plus higher. The main thing that impresses me about Corsair is that they really do put a great deal of "end-user' consideration and thoughtfulness into their design planning process.I planned on making good use of that "window view" by doing some interior lighting mods to make the interior lighting interesting and pleasant to view. It turned out looking great. The large 200mm fans on the front and top of the case are a great idea, they do indeed push a lot of air and are silent. I am glad Corsair decided to make the top fan mounts size adjustable; but the front fan mounting holes are not.Cable management gives you just about every routing option imagineable, is top notch, as is the overall quality of the case itself.Another nice feature is the option of being able to remove the top hard drive cage completely or, reposition it on the bottom next to the main cage. indeed, I'm currently using an older 1100 watt non-modular PSU and needed a bit more room for some cables/wires that were bunching up on the back near the bottom HD cage location, and I was able to use the space under the main cage to hide the wires. However, one negative issue I have with this case is with the hard drive trays which are surprisingly way too thin and flimsy. They literally seem to "warp" even with a 2.5 inch SSD mounted. Also, when I was plugging the SATA and power cables into the HD's, on two occasions the HD tray bent and fell out of the cage, thus the reason for my four star rating. I was a bit dissappointed that Corsair seemed to "cut corners" with this key feature. They need to make these HD trays out of thicker plastic or better yet, metal. (Case in point; take a look at the $99.00 Sentey Arvina HD trays, made out of metal with a nice locking mechanism and attractive front release panel.) The grommets and metal posts on the sides of the Corsair HD trays are also difficult to line up with the HD holes without "popping out". With a little patience, however, it's not a big problem overall installing the HD's.I am very pleased with this case overall and already have had comments about how classy it looks. I would highly recommend the Corsair 650D to anyone interested in investing a few extra dollars in a very steamlined, classic, well built and well designed case.Corsair, please consider making your HD trays sturdier in this case... otherwise, kudos again to Corsair on another winner!PWN

Perfect
I honestly can't think of anything better for this case. Its huge, it has ever feature you could want and easy cable management. The only thing I would note is that you need an extra adapter for the 3.0 USB ports as they have USB ports internally and externally (which is normal). The case is well made and looks amazing, and I just love the fan controller to top it off, but make sure you buy 3 pin fans, as 4 pin ones don't fit with the fan controller, not that it affected me as the only extra one I bought was a silent one anyway, but I would highly recommend this case to anyone.
