Cool Summer
Excellent product in general as it does what its meant to do...cool down your room. Purchased this as my second Ecoair for my home office. These products are wifi connected so you can easily control it via an App while away if need be. The app is also combinable with a skill on Alexa. The remote controller is generic for their AC products which I think is a mistake. It takes away from the specific design by including functions that can never be used. The noise level is expected. Traditionally an A/C compressor would be facing outside the house or outside (split unit), so if it's in the room with a portable unit noise is expected. In comparison with other portable units, the price etc the sound level is fine. Don't use if you don't plan to vent it

Noisy but surprisingly I can sleep through it
We bought this unit a month ago when the temperature was really high and haven't had to use it until the last couple of nights. It was fairly easy to set up although worth noting that the window fitting we bought at the same time was useless. In the end we cut a perspex sheet to fit the window and cut a hole in it for the outlet pipe which works a treat (just take the sheet away when the unit is not being used). There is no getting away from the fact that this unit is loud - I was actually surprised how loud it was.The cooling effect is great though and I'm really impressed with that. The first couple of nights I ran it for a couple of hours before we went to bed and that was great in that the room was lovely and chilled at the start of the night but I was still waking at about 2-3 and needed cooling then. Last night I switched the unit on again at 3 and thought I would never get back to sleep but at least I was cool, however I fell straight back to sleep and slept comfortably until nearly 7 o'clock with the unit going all the time.So... it is loud but as it is a constant sound it doesn't seem to effect my sleep (and I am a light sleeper). I think the cooling effect is a bigger positive than the negative effect of the noise on my sleeping pattern. It has a remote but I haven't used it yet.

Reasonably quiet and does the job - bit heavy, but pretty much worth it's cost
Almost bought a far cheaper air con but decided to go for this one based on stated noise levels as I live in a tower block flat and I prefer my neighbours not to have to hear a jet engine going off in my living roomIt weighs a ton - thank goodness it has castors or it'd be immovable by one person. That's probably the refridgeration unit insideOn the other hand, it stopped my flat from becoming unbearable to be in during the recent heatwave(s), it's not too loud and it's definitely well madeThe manual could be a bit better made but overall I'd say it's proved it's worth over this summer

COVID-19
The air conditioner was easy to set up. Used it throughout the day with no issues. At night it can be noisy (64db) but as I keep it in the corner of the room it does not affect me as much. With this product you are provided with 1 drainage pipe However, there is 2 drainage ports and you are required to purchase the other hose on their website. This was the 14mm Condensate Hose at £5.40. Their courier service is Royal Mail. Due to COVID-19, Royal Mail have delayed the order for more than a week and as of now I still have not received the hose. I currently use a bag/bowl for the water to be drained once turned off. Therefore if you are purchasing at this moment of time please keep this in mind.Otherwise, product runs efficiently and worth the purchase.

The horse is too short to get to the window level. It should be increased by half a meter
It is used for cooling my bedroom on a hot day

Not quiet but not as loud as some reviews suggest
First things first - a disclaimer. I didn’t buy this from Amazon. I would have done - indeed, I tried to but when I tried to buy the DeLonghi N82 and then the EcoAir Crystal, I got a message from Amazon in both cases saying they couldn’t deliver to my address. So I went onto the EcoAir website and bought direct - I was going to go for the Crystal and then spotted this on offer at a lower price than Amazon so I got this instead. To sum up the a, it wasn’t bought from Amazon but I did genuinely buy this and as there are only a couple of reviews so far I thought I’d put one up here.Every year we get a hot spell and I end up with a couple of fans blowing air around the bedroom as we try to sleep. This year I figured I’d get ahead of the game and get a portable air conditioning unit before the really hot weather kicks in.After doing a lot of research I’d narrowed it down to either an Eco Air or a DeLonghi unit (had LG or Whynter been readily available in the UK I might have considered them but they aren’t so...) as being the best balance of quality/price.As far as I can tell, the Gelo is basically the same as the Crystal apart from the body shape and the addition of WiFi.First thing to note is that these things are heavy. Hardly surprising as they’re basically a fridge without the shelves. The Gelo has decent castors and is easy enough to wheel around on hard floors but if you’re thinking of getting one that can be taken up and down stairs then, unless you’re very strong, I think you’ll struggle. It came on a wooden pallet (see photo) and is easy enough to unpack as the box lifts off once you’ve got the polystyrene packing pieces out.. Set up is straightforward - I’m not bothered about connecting it to WiFi so can’t comment on that. You attach the cable holder(s), the drain hose and clamp, and assemble the vent hose and you’re good to go. The instructions aren’t the most detailed but then again, they don’t really need to be.This unit is the evaporative type which means that any condensation (water) that is formed as part of the cooling process is evaporated and blown out through the vent hose. There is a small drain tank and hose to catch any excess that can’t be evaporated away and they recommend you empty this at the end of the season or sooner if the tank is filled up. What this all means is that you have to pipe the hot air that the unit creates and direct it somewhere outside the room you’re trying to cool. All air conditioning units need a vent hose and this is no exception. I did consider one of those zip-round window sealing kits that Amazon sell but in the end went for a semi-permanent solution by cutting a piece of ply to the size of our side-opening windows. With this in place, I cut a hole through the plywood and fastened the venting port to it. All of this can be assembled or removed as needed but it also means that there’s a good seal around the venting hose so no hot air can get back in the room.Ours is a standard double bedroom so I figured the 9000 BTU should be adequate and on first impressions it seems that it’s plenty powerful enough to keep the bedroom cool. We’re east facing so get the morning sun but nothing in the afternoon so that helps but I’m pretty confident that this will make a big difference as we get into the warmer months. And now to noise. Lots of reviews I’ve read (of all makes and models of air conditioner) have complained about the noise that these things make so if you’re considering buying one for the bedroom to run all night then you need to bear a few things in mind. Air conditioners are inherently noisy. If you struggle to sleep if there’s any sort of sound then you aren’t going to sleep with an a/C unit in the bedroom.Based on the last few years, I’ve managed to sleep with two fans running all night (one of them a Dyson which is not a quiet machine by any measure) so my measure is whether this unit is quieter than the fans - and it definitely is. I’m very pleasantly surprised by how quiet this is compared to portable air con machines that I’ve used in the past. OK, it’s not whisper quiet - but it’s a constant low-pitched humming noise which I find quite relaxing. If you can sleep on the plane back from holiday then you can sleep through this. (And if you can’t then maybe just put it on for a couple of hours before bedtime and get the room cold before you go to bed?)So all in all I’m really pleased with this. Niggles? None really - as I mentioned earlier, the weight is noticeable and I think a couple of hand grips strategically placed would help move it more easily, particularly over carpet. Other than that, I’ve got no complaints at the moment - it’s a nice, reasonably compact unit that looks sleek and modern. It’s not too noisy (for a portable a/c), it cools the room very efficiently and it has a useful range of functions including a sleep mode that helps reduce noise a bit more by allowing the temperature to come up a little bit during the night so it’s not having to work as hard while you’re asleep.I’ll report back with updates if there are any but, for now, I’m very pleased with the Gelo.I hope this helps!
