Four Paws Brewers Yeast Garlic Flavored Dog and Cat Tablets , 1000 Count

We have a nine year old cat who is unpredictably picky. She loves Friskies, hates organic dry food, will eat beef liver but not beef and likes tuna, but only the water. Whiskas cat treats? Yes. Pork loin? Yum. Bacon? No. It's a crap (cat?) shoot.I got these brewer's yeast (with garlic) pills to give to my dog for fleas and, although the cat has gotten a few fleas living with our puppy, I assumed she would not eat these at all, whether ground into her food or given alone. When we got  Solid Gold Seameal Mineral and Vitamin Supplement for Horses, Dogs, and Cats (1 pound)  which tastes like the sea and the fish in it, she wouldn't eat that, either.The dog eats Seameal. And peanut butter. And everything we own, so first I fed the dog the brewer's yeast pills and she ate five of them easily, no surprise (the label says to give one per ten pounds of body weight).When I held one out to the cat she started trembling with joy and ate it whole. I mean trembling, like too crazily enchanted to even meow. It was very weird. Then she ate a second one (I didn't think two would hurt even though she is 10lb). After she vomited a hairball later I gave her another pill and again she swallowed it whole. This is a cat who wants her Friskies in little chunks in gravy and her human food treats, like meat, cut into itty-bitty slivers. I wanted to write this review because I am shocked we can feed her these, or that she just swallows them.Not only should the pills repel fleas, but they also have a good range of vitamins and 37% crude protein, which is three times what their food has, dry or wet. As you know, cats need more protein than dogs so I am thrilled that our cat likes these pills. If you are considering getting this but your cat is choosy like ours, seriously go ahead and try it. Since we are giving the pets flea meds I probably won't be able to judge the pills' effectiveness in that regard. However, they are definitely a good supplement and very affordable. Amen.

The previous year due to all the severe & repeated winter weather, we actually got a full year's break from fleas here in the Mid-South - I couldn't believe it! Well, this past year (2016) they came back with a vengeance & we were fighting them most of the year, even as early as March. In July I finally broke down & bought the only flea treatment that ever seems to work for us here in TN anymore (Advantage) and, after reading about brewers yeast, started experimenting with that as well. We've not seen a flea since, even without treating them with a topical again! I'm planning to just keep the dogs and cats on this year round from now on, they all love love LOVE it and think it's the best treat ever, except for one of the cats who liked it at first & after a while didn't want it anymore. The other two cats go crazy for it, as does the outside porch cat & all three of our dogs. I've also noticed that all of the pets on it have improved, softer and fluffier coats - two of the dogs were really having terrible skin and coat issues before, & now their coats look better than they have in years. One of the cats who is pretty old & frail has been looking and seeming a lot better & has put on some weight in recent months. Very much a hit with our zoo, and the 1000 tablet bottle (even with three cats getting a pill a day and three dogs getting multiple pills daily) will last us about a month and a half... so for the price and considering we haven't had to treat them for fleas since the initial treatment last summer + beginning daily brewers yeast, this product's really been a life saver & a bargain for us! Very happy with it & plan to keep it in our daily regimen, especially since everybody but the one thinks these tabs are the best dog and cat treat ever!

These are only OK - they seemed to help a little with fleas. My Bassets still had some fleas after several weeks, despite giving each one 6 of these pills DAILY! I suppose the infestation would have been worse without the use of these, but I had to go back to chemical flea preventative to eliminate the problem. I live in a dog friendly townhome complex, so the flea population is problematic throughout. I purchased these because I really would rather use a more natural, holistic approach to my senior Basset Hounds' healthcare, especially with parasite control, as there are so many horror stories out there about virtually every type of flea control product! I had to switch back from these to Comfortis tabs, however, before we became overrun with the little blood suckers this summer! Having to give 1 pill per 10 lbs seems to be a lot, although the bottle is nice and large. One of my Bassets ate them like treats, the other had to be coaxed (good thing he's a very well behaved Hound... he'll do anything for me, even if he really doesn't want to!). I gave the rest of the bottle to my daughter to see if it would help her 2 dogs - they have severe skin allergies and these pills indicate they will help with skin/coat issues as well as fleas. She has had the same reaction from her 2 dogs - the Shar Pei mix loves them; the Austrailian Shepherd turns up her nose! They haven't been on these supplements long enough for me to review their effectiveness on skin/coat issues. I'll update on that later!

Have used this product in the past but a different brand. Four Paws product did not live up to the same excellent result as the other. It affected my cat, the neighbor's cat and a neighbor dog in different manners that were not expected. Itchy skin, grass eating and vomiting almost immediately.Tablets are very small and therefore difficult to cut in half. I was very disappointed and will not try it again. The other brand I used previously was given to my dogs and cats for many years and I never had any trouble with that, just the opposite, so I'm going to try to find that again.

my cat really likes these and she's really picky I have no trouble getting her to eat it but I do break it into 4 pieces for her

Dog loves it, and hopefully preventive for fleas and good for coat
