great fan after 6 months of use...no issues....quiet white noise on low, leave it on this setting all the time.makes decent white noise on medium and high but i have heard a lot worse, no strange whirling or humming. Great breeze from it, good power on high, the little feet help when attached help with stability but placing a weight or something heavy will help from it sliding around too much from the power.All in all a great box fan, plus its black...looks amazing. Slight problem in shipping, one of the plastic feet broke, not much to be done, just super glued it back on and its working fine. Really satisfied, helping me get some good air in my apt when the A/C air isn't on, very nice!

This fan is extremely nice. Powerful, light and not super loud. Works great!

Before this fan, I had a Lasko for about 3 or 4 years - that is still going to this day. And one thing about me you must understand is I ran that fan 24/7. Rarely would I ever turn it off. I would adjust the power from low to high every now and then of course, but it stayed spinning for years. However it was getting to the point where it was dusty, the highest speed wasn't going as fast as it used to, and it was just time for a new one.Needless to say, I wanted another Lasko. And thankfully they provide an extremely similar model (this one) but in ALL black! I was so excited because most of my decor that the room I keep this fan in is dark / black so it's not longer the eyesore gray / white that the other one was.I've now received the fan and have been using it for a couple weeks with absolutely no problems. And I was very satisfied with the color. One thing I will mention is that this fan is not as "quiet" as the description may have you believe. However I was actually hoping for a louder fan as the only reason I use these is to have white noise while I sleep - and boy does this deliver. It's not so incredibly loud that it hurts your ears, but not as quiet as the more modern / pricey fans are. But again, I like that it's a bit on the loud side.I'd love to give this 5 stars as it's perfect for me, but I docked it a single star simply because the description is a bit false as it is not a quiet fan - and I realize I'm weird and that most people probably prefer a fan that is as quiet as possible. But if you're like me and love white noise to sleep, this is great!

So far this fan has held up through being carted to summer camp and back! Pretty good for a $20 fan! Yah, it makes noise, it's not a whisper fan, but it's an even noise, and I used it for white noise, on the lowest setting, at night in the cabin. I'll be using this in my apartment during the rest of summer while I'm not at camp! Moves air really well and does everything a box fan should. I love love love that it comes in black, so it blends in with the decor of a bedroom.

This is a standard box window fan. It blows air and doesn't cost much. The materials are a bit flimsy but that doesn't stop it from doing its job. In fact, it helps keep the cost down so if you accidentally get it wet because you forgot to close the window in a rain storm, you won't freak out about having to buy another. Although I got mine wet and let it dry out, and it still worked. I don't think it was meant to get wet though so results may not be typical. When I first got it, one of the blades were warped a bit and got stuck on the grate. I just pushed it and it worked just fine and doesn't get stuck anymore. I suppose the centripetal force cause the errant blade to straighten out over time.

Bought three of these fans. They work very well in our windows to bring the cool evening air in to our house

I have ordered two standing fans by Lasko from other sellers and found the product to be well-designed and functional, so I figured their box fan would be similar. The protective screens are extremely cheap plastic that were warped, through a couple of possibilites. Maybe careless storage in the warehouse? I do know the box was shipped unprotected and arrived here with the plastic fan guard severely warped; did the shipper lay something heavy on it for a long time? In either case, I tried to eliminate the blade from rubbing on the front guard by removing the mounting screws, which were a micro variety; doesn't every apartment dweller have a set of MICRO screwdrivers handy? I was further annoyed that the design prevented me from being able to reverse the warped plastic. End of story: now, we are using it without a guard. Because the other fans arrived in perfect condition, I can only think the seller slipped up along the line.

It arrived dented and smashed up, didn't really care though as I spent like 20 bucks. Pushed the dent out with my hand and it's been on ever since.
