Built for heavy weather but made of lightweight materials, the four-season Eureka! Mountain Pass tent is made for backcountry adventuring. With a highly breathable, lightweight canopy and zippered, removable side panels, the Mountain Pass is a true three or four season convertible style tent - a home away from home in any season. A waterproof rain fly keeps the tent protected from the elements and creates two vestibules for storing packs, wet boots, cooking gear, and more. High/Low Vent - Air Exchange system allows cooler air in through the low vents and warmer air up and out to reduce moisture inside the tent. Features removable side panels that provide an added layer of protection in changing conditions, plus a gear loft and five pockets for storing essentials. Eureka! found its humble beginnings in 1895 and today their camping gear gives you the freedom to have fun - from tents to cooking systems, and sleeping bags to camp furniture - reliable, easy-to-use, and packed with features campers care about.

Great tent
Pros: plenty of space, very weather-proof, two doors with vestibules for each, good value.Cons: a little heavier than I would like, vestibules provide good ground space but virtually no head space, window pockets don't function very well.Happy with my purchase and will use this as my preferred tent for several years.

Quality Tent
Eureka build quality, little too heavy for a backpacking tent. But should last for years to come! I got mine on sale was a great value. This definitely would be a great scout tent in a number of weather conditions.

Great tent
Great 4 season tent, would be great if it were a little lighter, especially for summer backpacking.

The only tent you will need
As an avid hiker/outdoors person living in the PNW, you normally need to have 2 different sets of gear. We get 8-9 solid months of rain - 2-3 months heat/drought, but even in summer - it gets chilly at night and even on the hottest day of the year, you can camp up in the snow here - which is why it's amazing. You end up hiking with crampons/micro spikes, half the year, and the other half you are in layers - starting off in big jackets, ending up in tanktop. You have winter sleeping bags for camping - and summer sleeping bags for camping.I wanted this tent for it's ability to handle all weather. If you can cut your gear down to something that can handle everything - you dont need a back country tent, a winter tent, a summer tent, etc. tent is the ultimate solution - it's 100% all weather and can handle anything in the PNW, so it being the only tent you need is excellent!> Waterproof. So for me - this was huge because where I camp - it will rain a lot. The rain fly on this is way better than other tents. I like that it creates a space for you to keep your pack and wet gear dry too, if your keeping them outside. I dont keep mine outside, but i like that option. The rain fly covers the tent very well - unlike other tents I have, the biggest thing i have noticed that i like the most about this is that it's clearly designed to really work and keep the tent dry. The fly goes almost down to the ground - so it really really works at keeping you dry. I havent tested it in snow, but i imagine this would help with that too. it was also pretty standard to setup and easy to put on and remove.> Everything else about the tent is pretty standard, so no need to go over it - if your looking at this tent, you probably know about the basics of tents. It has the basic storage features etc. The biggest difference about this tent is the quality in materials/fabrics and that rain fly. Even the poles are well made though and better than other tents. So - it's basically about the materials and functionality. Looks wise - same as any other tent.> Built to last. So because the materials are so well made and it's all weather - this really is the only tent you would need and it will last a long time.> Size - it's kind of large for backpacking - but it's not heavy. The rain fly is pretty durable and larger than others, and the poles a little thicker etc. the tent is easy to carry, but it's about the size of a small duffel bag. For myself - I consider this no issue and worth it for the functionality of the tent. I have spent a lot of money on tents and have 2 others. I feel like I could get rid of all the others and only have this one now - so that.... along with being warm and dry on a mountain.... makes this tent totally worth it for me. I'd recommend it to anyone in similar weather settings.

A true 4 season tent built to last
A lot of tents claim to be suitable for 3-4 seasons, but most fall short; that is not the case with this tent. This is the first tent I've owned that I truly consider a 4 season tent. Really, the only case I wouldn't use this in Backcountry would be if the temps were going to drop below 20°. Outside of that, I'd be comfortable using this tent.Assembly is approximately 12-15 minutes the first time out of the bag. After that, it's no more than a 7-9 minute process(knowing what you're doing cuts the time nearly in half). This is a light tent for the flexibility of seasons it's capable of. This is not a tent that is hard to trek/hike with, attached to a backpack.Overall, I truly can't think of one single drawback to this tent. I absolutely feel comfortable recommending it. Really, the only case I'd advise against it is if you're not likely to regularly use it all 4 seasons.Highly recommended5 starsCheers!

Great quality
The Eureka Mountain Pass 2 is the nicest tent I have yet to own. The materials appear to be very sturdy and the construction is high quality. The tent comes with a ground, rain fly, poles, stakes and a carry bag with sewn in assembly instructions. The tent was easy to set up and take down though a bit tough to get back into the carry bag on the first try.Once set up, it is very roomy for one person and cozy for two. With the rain fly on and closed, it warms up pretty quick, but stays cool with the rain fly removed and windows and door open. The interior has several pockets and comes with a small gear loft to attach to the top of the tent. The poles and stakes are lightweight aluminum and all the zipper pulls are made of a paracord. The clips are all plastic, but seem sturdy. The tent has a pretty tall floor (around 3") and a large door on one side and a smaller door on the opposite side. I like this option for getting in and out without stepping over your camping partner.Weight on this tent is 5 lbs 11 oz to 6 lbs plus, depending on the source cited. It is light enough to attach to a back pack and carry with you but seems too heavy to be considered "ultralight". I feel confident this would be a great tent for all season use. The construction seems sturdy and the abundance of set up options you have with the tent and rain fly would make it comfortable for any weather.Five stars!!

Not the smallest tent but worth every ounce
This is an awesome tent. I have three Eureka tents and a North Face. Eureka tents have been absolutely the greatest tents. Waterproof for ten trips with rainstorms for days. And this tent is even more rugged. I have booked two trips coming up. I have already set this tent up and I know I will love it. My wife and I will be splitting it up with tent and poles in one pack and fly and foot print in the other. I included two pictures packed with 35 lt backpack 1st the complete tent and the second is tent and poles. Third is side by side with the Midori Solo. Not bad size for a four season tent.
