It can sew thru multiple layers i sewed ribbon and 4 layers of cotton twill together and it handled well.

Can you sew thicker materials? Like faux leather or jeans

I think a couple layers of denim would be fine, though I think it would stall on more than a couple. Faux leather I bet would be a problem, though I've never tried it. This machine really only works well with thin, fairly loose-woven fabrics. Anything too thick (including layers) won't be able to fit under the presser foot.
