Mediocre on ear phones that will give you pleasant sound, but only buy if it is on sale.
I bought these headphones from Amazon for $31, so my plan was to use them for beaters.Function: These headphones sound pretty darn good, with some EQ tweaking, these have rock solid bass that vibrates your head satisfactorily(I'm not an audiophile; I like my bass). The mids and highs aren't exactly super, but they're clear enough to not warrant any undue focus or attention to them. These sound better than Beats Solo HD which I bought for my sister.Fit: This is where these headphones fall flat. There is a extremely odd shaped fit on the ear cups that seems slightly too small to be comfortable. I'm a pretty average sized man, 5'9" 150lb, but these feel like they were made for teenagers (which they probably are). Kind of on that note, I had mentioned I wanted to use these for beaters, but quickly found that not only the physical fit didn't work, the personality fit didn't either. See the following section about "Form."Form: I am a 25 yr. male professional who works as a medical engineer, so these phones are definitely juvenile and pre-pubescent for someone like me. It's not necessarily the age, but the fact that I'm in a fast paced high tech industry that doesn't exactly tolerate fledgling types. So these cans don't exactly project the image I want. Aside from that, these have a hardy plastic body that glistens very attractively, but also attracts fingerprints like glass. The color scheme is nice, but pretty loud branding; this is probably what pushed it over the fence as far as juvenille for me. The way these headphones fold is using these puzzle fit latches; you have to literally break the mated sections from each other in order to fold. This is nerve wracking every time as it always feels like you're going to break the headphones. The fact that these physically and mentally didn't fit me, I have just had them sitting on my shelf brand new never used. I am now selling them, but for $31 I guess it is just a cheap lesson learned. Do not buy these at retail, and if you do, make sure they will fit your style.

I LIKE IT
So first off let me say I had the beats by dre solo for months and i grew to hate them so i gave them to my brother and months after i ordered these. They came in a few days ago so here i am. The build is great it feels solid unlike the beats which are skinny and the earcups will come out of place with a enough force like say if your friend sits on part of it accidentally. These have a solid feel and a good weight and the cushion just feels amazingly soft. the cushion on the solos is falling off and it isn't as good. Also these have just as much of a bass kick as in the bass will tickle your ears just as much as the solos. These are excellent for hip-hop or metal which is what i use them for. The sound quality is better and the cord doesnt tangle and the ear cups don't create suction on your ears like the solos which is a great thing because the sound gets uneven and it sucks so overall i prefer these over the solos any day buy this and you won't regret itUPDATE: 11/21/12 After a month of use i handled them too rough and snapped them, the build quality isn't as strong as the beats solo hd. I dont plan on using my warranty or fixing them just because i want something to bigger and more comfortable

Great - but could be better.
I was very impressed with the design of these headphones. They look amazing - shiny and sturdy. They fold up and go nicely into the case provided. The audio cord is detachable and there are 2 that come with it - 1 with a mic (compatible with iphone, ipod, etc.) and just a basic cord for other devices. They are comfortable. I haven't noticed them being tight yet. Guess it depends on the size of your head. Now for the sound. The first song I listed to was "Stronger" by Kanye West. It was amazing, very crisp. The bass was good. Not overpowering. Then I listened to "All of the Lights" by Kanye West. This song has a much larger musical arrangement, and it seems when there are multiple instruments playing, the sound gets much muddier. You don't hear each instrument crisply. That would pretty much be my only complaint. So while they are great headphones, there is room for improvement.

Best Headphones I Have Ever Owned!
I Have Had 2 Pairs Of These Headphones And The First Pair I Got Were A Red Pair And Became Defective Only After A Month Of Use. I Wasn't All That Mad Considering They Had Muddy Sound. I Decided To Give The SL100UB A Shot, And I Picked The Right Pair. They Sounded A Lot And I Mean A LOT Better Than The Red Pair. From Highs To Lows They Excelled In Everything.I Had To Give It 5 Stars Just Due To This. The Cushions Are Soft, But They Hurt Your Ears After I Say An Hour Or Two Of Wearing Them. Now Here Is The Durability. At First It May Seem Like When You Put Them On That They Will Break, Well That Is Caused By The Leather Piece On The Headband. To Fix That What I Did Was I Took It Off Then Broke It In The Middle And Problem Fixed For Me. You Can't Even See It Up Close Unless You Take The Piece Off. Overall At The Price It Is Now And Was Before, It Is Worth Your Money. If Anybody Has Questions Ask Me.

Almost there but only half full...
The construction is solid. I have a large head and it is hard to find over-the-ears that don't fatigue my ear cartilage. I get a good amount of time before they get sore with these due to the good padding. Extending them also helps. However, the bass on mine is noticeably lower than even my $10 got-them-at-the-campus-store in-ear set (sorry for so many hyphens). I have tried everything from Opera, to Depeche Mode, to Afrob, to old techno and it all just seems to be mids and treble. Don't get me wrong, the mids and highs are very crisp with only a hint of distortion when turned up all the way (which you won't want to do because they can get loud!). So comfort 4, design, 5, but sound? 3. They just never seem to reach the full sound you would expect and are lacking in the lower register. For $30, I would say it is a great price but don't expect anything with serious bass or bass clefs to be amazing. I would say these are better suited for classical music than hip-hop or the like. Just my opinion though.
