The heart of Burning Man is a beautiful story to absorb....
Neil Shister’s insightful accounting of the origin, growth, personalities, struggles and successes of what is now a huge event with global influence is a very seamless read. He captures the joy and pain which attend such a complex undertaking and the now connection of art and philanthropy that that has developed over the years. If you’ve never attended Burning Man, this book will inspire you to start making plans soon.Lp

Who knew that Burning Man had such great importance and widespread influence?
I was not familiar with the writing of Neil Shister. He has written an important book about Burning Man describing the way Burning Man's culture has spread and influenced our modern technology, and thinking. It is an enjoyable and very worthwhile book.

Smart. Fun. Surprising. Inspiring.
Radical Ritual is a witty, wise, and deeply intimate account of Burning Man’s birth, growth, challenges, and future, based on exclusive interviews, deep research, and the author's own first-person experiences. I sped through the read, laughing or nodding at least once a page, and ended the book inspired to create art and community together in my own way. Neil Shister is a master non-fiction storyteller!

A thoughtful book on Burning Man
I loved this book because the author Neil Shister took the time to interview Larry Harvey and then give us a "you were there" experience. It's filled with great stories too, not just a lot of the author's pontificating. Yet Neil does some deep thinking about Burning Man too, which is refreshing after so many "it was crazy, man" articles. Thanks, Neil!
