For night time license plate reading I had to change the shutter speed cannot recall the specific value but I think I set night mode shutter speed to 1/1500 maybe, and the quality and light is adequate and can be read even while vehicle is in motion. The only downs to this camera is Amcrest’s customer service that seems to want to rush you to agree that you have nothing wrong with your setup or that your issue has been addressed so they can hang up the phone and move on to the next call. Also some of their reps are hard to understand, I’m not sure if my call is sent straight to India, but the wait is long (over 15 mins).Their motion alerts are spotty and late sometimes, I suggest you just don’t use them for that matter.

works very well with amcrest nvr. zoom feature is nice for when u not sure of location of camera.

This is a great camera and the optical zoom is amazing and exactly what I wanted. The night vision is better than others but not colored night vision.

The connection keep dropping, then will come back up whenever it feel like it, the web interface freezes all the time, the price on the website Amcrest.com is way cheaper than from amazon.

Great camera, with the added zoom function. I have found Amcrest cameras are value priced, but quality product. Definaltly go with the 164ft NV.
