I just received the Moonman Fountain Pen Wancai Mini Clear Demonstrator Pocket-Size Travel Pen (Fine Nib 0.5mm) with 6 Black ink Cartridges. This pen is like the baby sister to the Moonman Transparent Eye Dropper Filling Fountain which is another pen that I purchased and loved. Normally I do not write reviews but will when it is well deserved and this happens to be one of those cases. To preface this review i want to say that i am a designer that has a keen eye for detail. Upon receiving the pen from Amazon I was extremely impressed with the attention to detail in the packaging. Also, the package design of the box that included the pen the eye dropper tools along with a package of six cartridges that could be used in place of bottled ink, was very well designed. Now for the pen itself. this pen truly is a pocket-size fountain pen that could literally fit in the palm of your hand with the clear demonstrator design that i love. For my size hand, which is on the large size, it fit perfectly when the cap was screwed into the barrel increasing its length. also, it was very well balanced. The material used for the body seemed to be of a very high quality, as well as the nib itself. this is my second eye dropper fountain pen and like the first one i was reassured that there would be no ink leaking because of the beautiful design of the o-ring on the nib assembly, a design that was very well thought out. I loaded the barrel of the pen with montblanc blue ink using the eye dropper unit that was included with the pen. even though the barrel of the pen is small it could hold more than a 2 ml’s of ink. The ink flowed thru the nib almost instantaneously starting the pen with ease and It worked beautifully. Writing with this mini ‘MOONMAN’ was extremely smooth. this pen makes beautiful marks (see pic) with its very nice fine nib. this little pen has become a favorite of mine and is a very nice addition to my collection of writing tools. All in all I would recommend this pen to anyone who is looking for a very compact fountain pen. You can not go wrong.

At first I wa a bit apprehensive about purchasing a pocket pen, but thought the Wancai looked really pretty for the price point. The pen is very sturdily built- I accidentally dropped it on a hard floor when I tried to use it for the first time, but there was no visible damage done to it. The swirls are very beautiful to look at, and although the nib isn’t the smoothest, it’s easy to write with and doesn’t dry out easily. The manufacturer of the pen did a great job of ensuring the o-rings are in place securely and that this eyedropper pen will not leak. I like how the cap screws on above the grip line (which is where the grip screws into the body) because it acts as an additional safeguard to help prevent the possibility of ink leaking out of the pen when you’re not actively using it. These also help to prevent ink evaporation, which is appreciated. The pen is very easy to disassemble and to clean. The fine nib is a bit broad and writes closer to a Medium LAMY nib.When capped, the pen is about 3 and a half inches long; when the cap is posted (via screwing into the back of the body), the pen is just under 5 inches. (See my pics for reference). The pen is very lightweight and I love how when the pen cap is posted/screwed onto the back of the pen, the step between the cap and body is barely noticeable. This pen definitely looks more expensive than it costs, however, the writing experience is not as smooth as the cheaper Pilot Metropolitan. With that being said, the Wancai outperforms the Metropolitan with its larger ink capacity, more secure airtight seals (ink doesn’t evaporate as easily and the nib never has hard starts), and weight (the Metropolitan is heavy in my small hands). This is a great starter pen.

I didn't expect much from this but I have come to really like it. The point is fine, which I prefer. I carry it every day and it has not leaked. The reservoir holds a good amount of ink too.

This was my first fountain pen purchase from this manufacturer and I like it very much. First, it writes fantastic. Nice and smooth. Not scratchy or skippy. Second, it’s a nice looking pen. I purchased it in pink, and it’s a pink marbling sort of color that is very pretty and fun. Third, I love how they make this pen compact to carry, but by simply screwing the cap onto the non-writing end, it is made into a full sized pen. Clever, and quite functional because it’s makes the pen so easy to drop in your pocket on the go. Fourth, the price point is reasonable.The only small nit I have is that very occasionally (twice in the 2.5 months I’ve owned this pen) the pen leaks into the cap just a tiny bit if it’s jangled around in your pocket or purse for a day or two. It doesn’t leak out of the pen itself or anything, and the cap screws on so it doesn’t leak out there either. But I could see some ink in the cap when I took it out of my purse, and so took it to the restroom to open it and rinse out the cap. Not a big deal, but I now make sure the cap is securely screwed on when I throw it into the black hole that is my purse. Of course, this is not a problem at all when I leave the pen on my desk. Only when it’s carried in a place where it’s subject to jostling.I really like this pen and will be buying the green or clear model soon!

Love my clear Moonman! It’s tiny, but mighty! It holds lots of ink and it’s so smooth to write with and comfortable to hold. I have arthritis and changes to my grip due to nerve damage, so this pen is very comfortable to hold.

コンパクトでインクの補充がユニークだと思い購入してみました。カートリッジでもコンバータでも吸引式でもないのですが、スポイトで入れるだけで簡単だし普通のより容量が大きいです。クリアを購入しましたが、カラーインクを入れるととても良い可愛いくて気に入りました！インクフローは控えめですが、それを除けば使いやすいです。

Perfect size for on the go. Writes well and versatile.
