Poor for Babies, but Needed by Disabled Seniors
The circumference of the heads of this spoon and fork duo is the size of a quarter, making it possible to scoop up a nickel size (or smaller) portion of liquid or solid. For children who have small mouths, that's probably OK, but for a bigger or older child, such a small serving size could be frustrating.Although the BPA-free claim was a selling point for me, handling these utensils in person and reading the USES and WARNINGS have been a disappointment. While cutting them free from the heavy cardboard and plastic packing, I nicked the back of the spoon with the scissors. The scrape is visible and textured. Each item bends and twists easily in practically any direction, and the user is instructed not to bend it further than 90 degrees. You're also advised not to microwave the product, which makes me wonder: What's under the plastic? Is it metal, and if so, hopefully it isn't something toxic, such as lead. Secondly, if a kid can use these utensils, he/she might also be capable of bending it. My hands are arthritic, and I didn't have a problem bending them. I surmise that a child who is old enough to feed himself/herself will have a field day amusing him/herself with the items' pliability, and I hope that he/she will never get to the core of what makes these things so flexible. In addition to DO NOT MICROWAVE, further instructions about care and use include: Wash thoroughly before initial use and after each use. Wash each separately. May be hand washed and it's dishwasher safe. Store in a dry, clean place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Do not leave the product in disinfectant (sterilizing solution) for longer than recommended. NEVER leave child unattended while feeding. ALWAYS use with adult supervision. Do not bend beyond a 90 degree angle in any direction. Check product before each use, and discard it at first sign of damage. Why I bought the product: I didn't read the individual reviews, which would have been wise because there were a few single star ratings and warnings. I bought it because the average star rating was four, and the items' flexibility appealed to my curiosity. I didn't purchase the set for a child. I bought it because I see the product's market potential for senior citizens and the disabled who have difficulty feeding themselves. For a child, the utensils still deserve a single star. For seniors and the disabled, if this product were larger, but still light and flexible, it could be an asset for them and deserving of more stars.

Gorgeous and Functional
We received these utensils today in part of what I called my "Make Mama and Papa's Like Easier" Kit. These spoons are part of our efforts to teach our 14 month old how to feed herself. They are small but perfect for our little girl's tiny mouth. We ordered the light blue/white version and they are lovely. Baby Girl loved them and took one in each hand. Since she has not picked a dominate hand yet it is good they they can change for either hand. The bent angle is perfect for her self-feeding and the handles are just the right thickness for her hands. Great job Boon! You have another hit here! BTW we also love our Boon Lawn drying. Boon does such a good job blending form and function!

Perfect for 11 mo old's first attempts with spoon; Fork useless
Reviews for this product seem split evenly between positive and negative. I think it depends on your kid's age. These are small. They are perfect for my 11-mo old, who has started to take an interest in spoon-feeding himself. The size and shape are perfect, and the raised edge of the spoon bed prevents peas from falling off on the way to his mouth. However, the raised edges also prevent him from getting all of food off the spoon if it's mushy stuff like oatmeal, which I don't mind. So it's a good spoon for self-feeding, not for the adult to feed baby with.I'm giving it three stars because I wish they'd sell just the spoon, because we don't use the fork. He's still at the chewy/bitey stage, so he chews on both ends a lot. I'm afraid the pieces of the fork will break off in his mouth with his aggressive biting. Also not sure if it can really be used to spear anything.

useful spoons to have
I like these spoons. We don't use them all the time but my daughter likes variety so they are definitely in the rotation. She had a lot of success with them in the beginning of spoon feeding (10 months) and like them still (14 months). I don't know if the bendy option has been that helpful but the size is perfect and the handles are easy to grip for little hands. The problem with the bend is that is dependent on her holding the spoon in the same way every time which doesn't happen. I've had more success with telling her to hold her elbow up. It's very awkward to spoon when your head is so big and arms are short (in comparison).

These are fantastic if you have a young child who likes to "help" during mealtimes. The utensils are very shallow, so you can't get much on them. That is actually a good thing for a beginning feeder, though. I can put a small amount on the spoon, and my son can work on feeding himself without wasting a ton of food. With the chubby handle and easy bending (I can do it with one finger while he's holding the utensils), he's been pretty successful getting the food into his mouth from the very beginning. These probably won't be very useful when he gets old enough to feed himself completely alone, but, with a little parental assistance, they're great for teaching the skill and fostering independence in a new eater.

Must have for beginning eaters!
This spoon was the best spoon for feeding my baby pureed food/cereal. It was just deep enough to hold the puree, but not too deep that it was hard to get the food into her mouth. It was just the right size for her mouth, so it wasn't a stretch to get it in. You can bend the head of the spoon to make it easier to get to your baby, and it was the right size for her hand if she wanted to try using it herself. We haven't had a reason to try out the fork yet, but I'm sure we will make use of it when we are ready to teach her how to use utensils on her own. I would only purchase this spoon if I was going to rebuy her utensils.

Good for toys but not feeding so much.
Great for playing and eating. I usually give my daughter one while I'm feeding her. They arent that great for using to feed her but she loves playing with them. The spoon doesn't hold much and its pretty flat so if I have to move quickly to avoid a swinging arm food flies off of it. She takes bigger bites than what fits in the spoon so its not really for eating as far as I'm concerned. The fat end is good for her little hand though and the silicone helps her grip.

Brilliant for Blw
We started Baby-led weaning and these are brilliant. While my son can't dip (or scoop food up) yet, he can confidently feed himself with a full spoon once I pass it to him. The handle is nice and soft (and squeedgy) so he enjoys chewing on it, too, but it is short enough so that he can't stick it all too deep into his mouth. You can change how you bend the spoon/ fork for each use very easily and they have a nice sized tip so that baby can't put too much food at once in their mouth. Best cutlery set we bought

Great Set
My daughter is 2.5 with special needs and these are a great set in helping her learn to self feed. Now she can lift the spoon, sometimes it takes a few tries to get her mouth and usually the foods fallen from the spoon so I just twist the top of the 'boon' and its an easier angle for her. These are fab because you can tilt the head from side to side and also twist them! Now I can set them at the perfect angle for her and meal times aren't so frustrating! Fab

This was great in theory but I just don't see these as necessary. My toddler never holds his spoon the same way, so while the bend may work for one bite, he changes his grip for the next bite and the bend becomes a nuisance. The depth of the spoon is rather small too. My go-to spoons are by Munchkin, as they are wider and deeper. Simple.

Excellent for left and right handers
These are a brilliant idea as they allow you to move the angle of the fork and spoon. I bought them for a left hander but they are great for both as little ones alter the angle of how they put spoons into their mouth. I have put them in the dishwasher ( top shelf) and they are still going strong.

Great if a little small
Great product to help little ones guide the food towards their mouthThe bowl parts are a bit small I found; but that's my only criticismVery good for those who haven't yet chosen a dominant hand, as you can bend the bowl whichever way they choose on the day.If the bowls were larger I would've given 5 stars!
